Pioneer PD-M426 6-Disc Magazine CD Changer
Stores and plays up to 6 CDs at a time in easily interchangeable cartridges Additional disc magazine may be purchased as options
Easy to manage and outfitted with a nice array of features, the Pioneer PD-M426 CD changer stores up to six CDs at once in its removable magazine, keeping the music flowing for hours. A magazine CD changer is ideal for listeners who like to organize their music by theme or artist. All they need to do is remove one magazine and insert another whenever they want to enjoy a different genre or set of CDs (each additional magazine is sold separately). It's a great way to downshift from upbeat dance tunes to mellow trance music while hosting a party, or to listen to a favorite artist's entire catalogue while cleaning the house. The audio sounds smooth and precise thanks to the 1-bit digital-to-analog converter and the low-noise, low-loss laser pickup. Among the playback functions are 32-track programming, which lets the listener create a custom soundtrack (the programmed tracks even stay in the memory after the unit shuts off); random play (one or all discs); and five unique repeat modes. An added convenience derives from the Delete Program Playback function, which lets listeners delete tracks or discs that they don't want to play without removing the CDs from the magazine. Additional features include Hi-Lite Scan, which plays roughly 10 seconds from the first track on either one or all the discs; timer playback when connected to an external timer unit; a programmable pause function (useful when recording onto a cassette); a full-function remote control; and system remote in/out jacks. The remote jacks let users connect the CD changer to a compatible Pioneer receiver, and then control the changer using the receiver's remote. The PD-M426 measures 16.56 by 4.12 by 11.56 inches (W x H x D) and carries a one-year warranty on parts and labor. What's in the Box PD-M426 CD changer, one magazine, remote control, user's manual.

Pioneer PD-M426 6-Disc Magazine CD Changer Reviews
No problem. I have purchased PIoneer products since 1992 and have been very satisfied with the durability and quality.
Its a great design (although your CDs need to be in perfect shape to play). I had a very similar Pioneer player from the early 90's that lasted until my baby boy stuffed his toys inside the cartridge slot, almost 20 years. This version, now only 6 months old, refuses to play discs 5 and 6 and will halt with error code 02 if attempted. The basic design for this player is unchanged from that era. Good design, cheap build quality.
Perfect for the casual listener. It worked great then, and it works great now. This model is also a newer version of a player my dad had when I was growing up. I purchased this CD after reviewing many other CD changers. It doesn't have any bells and whistles, but I love to throw in a good mix of music, hit RANDOM and relax.
Have only had the Pioneer CD changer for a couple of months, but so far it is serving our purpose of playing multiple disks songs in random order. It did not come with an amplifier, nor a reminder that I needed one, so I had to jury rig with an old combination record/casette/radio player that serves as my amplifier. Plus it did not come with any connection wires, so had to jury rig with what I had.
Every single song is played and if one CD has five songs that haven't played yet, then they play out and the player stops. I am glad this player is coming back and that the cartridge 3-pack is here to stay. You can have as much as eight hours maximum of music at your finger tips. They take anything that is burned "Red Book", the industry standard of high quality music. I started using this 6-Disc cartridge player over ten years ago and am glad to see them coming back. When I burn on an 80-minute blank CD (I have a lot of vinyl to convert to digital) I can often have two albums on one music CD.
I'm a music collector and I use the random feature as it plays, in random order, every song on all six music CD's in the cartridge. I had purchased two back-up players in case one dies. I have at least 300 cartridges and label them by genres so I can have a variety of music. Now, let the music live on.
