+2 for audio quality. Platronics never disappoints when it comes to audio quality. Basic need addressed.
+3 for Blue Tooth (BT) compatibility and BT headset. 3 stars because this is a huge $ savings as I spend hours together on the phone from home. Don't need to use my cell anymore just for the BT.
+2 for for built-in VOIP / Skype integration. This is pretty useful if you have broadband and use Skype. Don't need to be in front of on your computer and no airtime charges (for iPhone w/Skype app users).
+1 for good battery life

-2 for design - keys are tiny, you may find yourself fat fingering the keys more often that you'd like. Build is not sturdy, both the phone and BT feel flimsy (like plastic). Looks like Platronics wanted to build a 'cell phone like land line phone' with BT compatibility for home based business users and any others who spend a sizable amount of time on the phone but cut corners on equipment design and quality (something's gotta give?).
-1 for functionality - not the most functional cordless phone out there. You have to press OK twice and then Talk to redial (no redial button), Menu and screen are very basic.

Bottom line: Ideal for VOIP users who spend 6 - 20 hours a week on the phone at home. You will stop using your cell phone at home in no time and start saving on cell phone bills, that is, if you are willing to accept the (minor) flaws in design and pay a couple dollars hundred upfront for the equipment ;-)
It's been a while since this phone has been selling and yet there are hardly any phones out there with similar capabilities. I wonder why...
The Calisto worked well but, I thought that this would take care of 3 different connections all with one headset, (landline, mobile phone, computer). Worked well with the base and an Apple 3Gs, but couldn't link to a computer using Windows 7 and actually locked-up my system. Returned it and went to a Siemens Gigaset SL78H for my land line and a Plantronics Voyager PRO headset. This headset lets you connect to two bluetooth sources and answer or generate calls from either source. It still leaves my computer out of the loop but this for me is much more versital then the Calisto.
it works great, but the earpiece tends to break easly i bought another earpiece and it broke in the same place, im not buying anymore. this is another pice for the scrap yard.
The Mac support is not up to date and will not install on Snow Leopard 10.6
This doesn't make it useless, just less useful than they claim. They're a bit sloppy in packaging as well (not including a software CD although the package says it has one) and their manual points you to a download URL that is a dead link. But after waiting a half hour for tech support you WILL be able to download the old software.
I guess that whole "integration" thing is over-rated.
I bought this product a year ago based on its recently released Mac software and good hardware reviews. At that time Snow Leopard was announced. Plantronics has not upgraded the software once since it was released (and it was poor in the first place) and now it doesn't support Mac's latest OS. Customer support doesn't answer questions and apart from an initial "we are working on it" they are now saying they wont support 10.6. I understand this policy for "out of production" products or perhaps for older products and major OS changes BUT in this case it was predictable and I can not but help feel they knowingly duped their customers.
I like the hardware but as long as this is how Plantronics treats its customers I am not buying another of their products.
