Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Set of Six, Black)
Introducing a complete home theater audio solution for people who crave true cinema excitement without breaking the bank - the RM6750. The integrated Power Port Bass Vent designed right onto the back of the compact Satellite and Center Channel speakers - the same technology used in full-sized Polk Audio speakers - improves lower midrange response and all-important sub/sat blending, taking the RM6750 beyond the performance realm of any other sub/sat system in this price range. This integrated design reveals midrange with no "hole" in the frequencies between the sats and the sub, for male vocals that are rich and full-not thin and weak like other sub/sat systems. The RM6750 comes with its own subwoofer module, an 8 inch long throw driver and high current power amplifier for real ground-shaking bass thrills.

Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Set of Six, Black) Reviews
My last home-theater-in-a-box died a few weeks ago, and instead of buying another cheap all in one to replace it, I decided to upgrade to an actual switched receiver. The sub sounds fine to me (I'm not a fan of trunk rattling bass in cars either), but I can understand how others say it might sound flat. These speakers sound very nice, the dialog is crisp, the surround sound is far superior to what I had before. This is my first foray into "real" home audio systems.
They are small, but if you set them up correctly and have a descent receiver you will be pleased also. Hope this helps. By the way the room I have them in,is a 20x20 and they are pushed by an old sony str-de475 80watts per channel. These are great speakers for the money I am very impressed them.
Leaning toward beefing up the fronts first. If there's still not enough window shattering going on, I'll move on to the sub, then the center and finally the surrounds. This compact surround system works great with my home theater set-up in a pretty small room, but you might be disappointed if you want to use it to listen to much in the way of music. There's just not enough "there" there, which leads this non-audiophile to say that there's probably not enough midrange. Again, movies and TV sound great with this system, so long as you're not watching a rock concert film. Sorry, don't have any alternative suggestions as I am currently considering upgrade options myself.
Would recommend this system for a 14X24 room in which it sounds WONDERFUL. Awesome results. Installed the Polk RM6750 speaker system with an Onkyo SR-605 receiver and Onkyo 704 DVD changer.
I have these connected a Onkyo SR606 and I constantly worry about disturbing my neighbors. Now on to the product. These speakers are good for the small size. I just ordered alot of items from Amazon recently, so all my reviews will start the same, just with different sellers of course:. Amazon & WholeSaleAV gets 5 stars for extremely fast regular/standard shipping. I even have the front speakers set too high up and the sound is still good. Was supposed to come June 30 - July 3; I ordered this on the June 24th, it arrived June 26th.
