Samsung 2233SW 21.5-Inch Full HD Widescreen LCD Monitor
Imagine a sculpture that doubles as a valuable business tool. That describes the Samsung 2233SW 21.5" widescreen LCD monitor perfectly. Its soft curves, rich piano black finish and clear acrylic accent bar lend distinctive style and sophistication to your desk. Its clean look extends even to the back, with an integrated housing that hides all your cables. And when you turn it on, the 2233SW more than lives up to expectations. The 16:9 aspect ratio provides more room for multitasking. 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution gives you the highest resolution possible. The 5ms response time and 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio mean razor-sharp, detailed motion video. Exclusive Samsung technologies give you rich color with natural skin tones. With Aspect Ratio Control, the 2233SW won't stretch 4:3 content to fill the widescreen. Whether you're viewing 5:4 or 4:3 content, it will always be distortion free. The 2233SW also offers you a Custom Key, for quick, one-touch access to the Samsung picture optimization function you use the most. And an energy-saving Power Consumption Control lets you set your 2233SW to turn off automatically at a specific time. Beauty inside and out. With the Samsung 2233SW, it's not hard to imagine.

Samsung 2233SW 21.5-Inch Full HD Widescreen LCD Monitor Reviews
Straight out the box the aesthetics of this monitor look great. The stand took a total of 5 seconds to screw in and once the monitor was powered up it automatically displayed in 1080p. Just make sure your computer is up to date and your graphics card can handle HD resolutions and you'll be fine. The stand stability is normal, neither stiff nor loose. It provides tilt which is easy to adjust. The screen is bright enough, colors are great, and everything is nice and crisp - no dead pixels at all. I've only recently got this monitor but I'm not worried at all about it's reliability. I already own a Samsung 26" LCD HDTV and a Samsung 40" 1080p LCD HDTV and have had both for roughtly 1-2 years already without any problems at all. You really can't go wrong with their products and this monitor reinstates my love for Samsung products.
Obtained this monitor and hooked it to a brand new mac mini 2009 (2.53 vers.)MC239LL/A in Jan.2010. Stand took seconds to attach and the monitor was instantly recognized by my mini at 1080p. I am using the DVI connection. I have found absolutely no reason to adjust or change settings. Apple's monitor system preferences gives me all the control I need. Other resolutions will work but 1080p is the best for this size monitor. I cannot find any reason why anyone would want to change to a different resolution. Higher resolutions are not necessarily better. Every monitor has an optimum setting. This one is 1080p. I feel it's brightness is just right. The monitor automatically detects when a computer is attached and adjust to whether it is VGA or DVI. This can result in one minor complaint. If the mac goes to sleep the monitor will sometime appear to lose the signal and switch to the VGA input and since there is no VGA monitor attached you get loss of signal until you hit the input switch on the side of the monitor which will direct it back to the DVI input. So I just keep the mac from sleeping and that solved the problem for me. It is not a laptop so sleeping to conserve power is not an issue. It should also be noted that the software that comes with the monitor is not mac compatible. But I still highly recommend this monitor. The software is not needed. PS. There were a handful of negative reviews and from what I could see , almost all were from an earlier version of the same model. So maybe those earlier versions had some issues which were corrected in the newer version.
This is my 3rd Samsung Monitor purchase. I use these on my macs. My MacPro (tower) now has 2 side by side monitors including this new one. My MacBook Pro is hooked up to another Samsung Monitor. The brightness is better on this newer model than the SyncMaster 226BW. Having these side by side you can tell the difference but both are still great. The SyncMaster 2233 is 50,000:1 vs 3,000:1 on the 226BW. I do a lot of graphics and this new monitor is great.
Solid Samsung display. I have a Samsung 46" HDTV and have been happy with both of these. Only thing that's missing are more ways to adjust this monitor - height, etc. All you can do is tilt it a little.
Bought in July of 08, two weeks ago black screen, no blue around power switch. Change of power source made no difference.
