my buddy has a 52' version of this tv and it is the same way. Just a all around great tv. I LOVE IT. I have had this tv for about 6 month's and I have to say it is a great tv.
I got a great deal on it, the picture is great , and I don't regret it. I bought this TV even with all the warnings about the high pitched sounds and I'm glad I did.
I couldn't recommend this set to anyone. This set definitely needs to be recalled. Best Buy won't give us a loaner tv, so we're stuck without our tv. We bought this model in February from Best Buy, and a couple of months later it starting making a loud high pithed ringing noise and also seemed to get very hot. They took the set and won't have it back to us for at least 3 weeks. We called Best Buy and they sent a repair person from out of town (3 hours away).
(as i write this i have been on hold for 30 minutes)So take it from me.save your money DO NOT buy Samsung TVs - great picture, lousy TV. after turning on the tv for about 5 minutes it starts a "humming" sound that gets so loud that its impossible to listen to the tv. i had my tv since March (4 months) and its a complete piece of junk. i called for service and no one has even responded.
Hold off on buying this model until a fix is made. I bought the Samsung LNT3253H 32 inch lcd tv and found that after only a few months, the TV whistles so loudly it sounds like a tea pot. I'm sending it back. The picture is great, but the annoying noise coming from the back of the TV is awful.
