Either I've had two bad batteries or something is wrong with the player itself. I've tried charging on two different computers and on a car charger. The original battery in my Sansa e280 quit holding a charge (no life after less than 2 hours of use) so I ordered a replacement battery. The replacement battery will not hold a charge either.
Love the Sansa. Oh and, free shipping by Amazon. I have transmitters for both and a way to plug into any system I'm close to. The battery on one just went out so, I bought two new ones (for $40, same price to send in one ipod to get battery switched out). I have had (2) 4gb e260(s) for over a year now.
CANCELED MY ORDER TWICE BUT THEY ARE STILL SELLING THE SAME BATTERY AT A HIGHER PRICE.
Now I got a new battery, and for only $20, I feel like I got a whole new 8 gig portable player again. The original battery on my sansa e280 lasted about 2 years, when it died, I just used it as a jukebox on my living room stereo, because it still worked plugged in. Being able to replace your own battery on an mp3 player is probably a very overlooked key product feature.
One of my concerns when I bought my Sandisk sansa e260 MP3 player was how many charges the factory battery would take before it failed. Another potential problem solved. I haven't had to replace my factory battery yet, but when I have to, this kit will make it a snap. When you deal with this tiny sized screw, you're bound to mess one up, or drop one on the floor, to be forever lost in the carpet. This kit caught my eye, and I thought I'd give it a try. Besides the replacement battery, you get the proper sized screwdriver, and 4 replacement screws.
