Sangean DT200VX AM/FM/TV Portable Pocket-Size Radio

Sangean's DT-200VX builds on the success of its predecessor, the DT-200V - a popular belt radio for over a decade. It has great selectivity and responsiveness and picks up stations in areas where no other radio could. Along with great reception in the classic black case, you'll also get the handy belt clip, a set of ear buds and an external antenna. The DT-200VX also has a clock, backlight and deep bass boost. The 19-band memory and memory seeker makes it easy to tune in, and the large LCD display makes it easier to see. The Sangean legacy of superior reception and sensitivity are here, with additional features that it even better. Stereo / Mono / Speaker Switch Deep Bass Boost Removable belt clip Auto-seek station Battery power indicator

The ultimate pocket radio, Sangean's popular DT200V is imminently compact but loaded with convenient features, from its 19 station presets to its drift-free, PLL synthesized tuning, auto station scanning, TV sound reception, and handy belt clip. Listen through the built-in speaker or the supplied ear bud headphones. Forgot to turn it off? No worries: it shuts itself off after 60 minutes to conserve batteries (its sole source of power). The radio's high-impact ABS case virtually guarantees long life.

Batteries should last 30 to 40 hours at moderate volume through the unit's single speaker and slightly longer on the included ear bud headphones. Pocket use was taken into account even at the level of ear bud manufacture: if you put your radio in your pocket, it's less distance to one ear than to the other, so one side of the headphone cord is accordingly shorter. The DT200V runs on 2 AA batteries, not included.

Sangean DT200VX AM/FM/TV Portable Pocket-Size Radio Reviews

(My fault and not the radio) I made the mistake of putting a magnetically sensitive transit pass in my pocket when the radio was turned off and the transit pass still demagnitized. The Sangeon Pocket radio is one of the better pocket radios that I have used.

Sophisticated shirt pocket radio for personal listening. Small speaker does NOT have "room-filling sound." AM &FM reception very good. Serves purpose well when it is not possible to listen to a table-top radio, or sound system. Good adjacent-signal rejection.

I dropped a star (4 out of 5) due to Sangean not addressing this issue which is scheduled in just three months. It should hopefully last as long as the last one. This is our second Sangean pocket radio, the first one lasted 6-7 years before the battery compartment wiring corroded from a leaking battery. This new unit features new features, like the backlight and more memory, than the previous DT100 model. That is too bad, as my wife uses it to listen to Letterman and the late shows with a pillow speaker. The only concern is the switch to Digital TV in February, I imagine we will lose the TV reception.

For many years I have had this pocket radio. There is also a bass boost. This one is very similar though a tiny bit smaller with updated features. It is much easier to program. The female jack for my headphone finally gave up and could only get the left channel so I was delighted to find it was still made and got another from Amazon. It has a digital tuner, is the size of a deck of cards, so it fits in my shirt pocket and runs on two AA batteries while the rest use AAA so I am not changing batteries often. I use rechargeable batteries. It really works and is indestructible.

The only damage was that the bezel popped out and had to be glued back. What I like about it is that it really works well in bringing in stations - it uses the cord of the earphone as the antenna. I have dropped this radio more than a hundred times and it still worked. The updated features are: you can now defeat the automatic shutoff after one hour of running time. There is a battery indicator why is nice is because this radio draws so little power that it runs right up to full drain until it shuts off abruptly. You now have a minute to change batteries without losing memory.

The TV audio even works well and that had no bearing on my purchase. The sound is good with or without the ear phones. I use it for football games. Does everything I was look for. The batteries have lasted through 4 games without showing any drainage.
