The radio even adjusts itself automatically for daylight saving time. Sangean RCR-2 Digital Atomic Clock Radio with Dual Alarms Reviews

and more. We live out in the sticks; so, we need a good receiver. Atomic Clock - I never have to set the time. Your fingers wrap around this feature so that your thumb can press the button.

Then I was groping, half blind, for the buttons and I realized that the "tubes" make it easy to push the firm buttons. If the power is out when you need to get up, then no alarm. the light comes on when the alarm turns on. If the power goes out, it automatically resets itself. I've been telling her, "This is the best alarm clock." every two months or so since I bought it. You can pretty much hit any button on the top and it will snooze.

You can also assign a different radio station to each alarm. Dual Alarms - You can set two alarms to go off at different times and on different days. Backlight - The display backlight can be turned off if the light bothers you. This is undoubtedly the best clock radio I've ever owned. If the power comes back on. Radio - Digital tuner brings in good reception.

Each alarm can be set for any combination of SMTWTFS. Snooze - No fumbling snooze. Ergonomic design - I thought the "tubes" on the left and right side were strange at first. My wife thinks I'm crazy. Guess what. Big display, automatically adjusts for daylight savings, displays the date. Receives more stations than any radio in the house (with the exception of our Onkyo Dolby 5.1 tuner).

I've had it now for two years and it is easy to use and reliable. The only thing that I wish it had is a battery backup. no worries, it automatically resets the time and retains the alarm setting. It synchronizes with an atomic clock every evening.

The button to shut off the alarm at wakeup time is easily located for me. It takes a while to program this clock radio. The problem is that if you should want to change the time for any given day it seems a bit complicated to silence or change it for that day. The lighted screen is impossible for me to see without my glasses. My new setup is far more expensive than the Radio Shack clock radio that I used for years. I solved that by buying a large-letter alarm clock which I have placed next to it. You set up the time you want to wake up each day of the week, then never have to touch it except to turn it off in the morning, which is convenient. I could see the time and it was easy to change my wakeup time but I had to remember to set it at night.

The angle to view the time display has to be "dead on" with the face of the clock. The radio plays well. Any other angle and the display washes out. It also was easy to set up. Mike Also you can not turn off the alarm if you chose to,without resetting it.

It cost slightly more than I'd anticipated paying, but I think that it was worth the extra money. The atomic clock doesn't seem to get reception where I am an urban area. My three complaints about this product:. I was dubious about the orange display, but I actually like it a lot better than our old green one.

The sound quality is pretty good, and it is smaller than I imagined it would be. My husband and I had several requirements to replace our 12 year old Panasonic alarm dual alarms, no CD or tape player, AM/FM radio with pre-set buttons, etc. 2.

The user manual was not very intuitive it was all pictures instead of descriptions, which I'd rather not pore over teeny labels to figure out what button is the snooze button. Otherwise, we really like this clock, and I would buy it again. 3.

1. The snooze button is sort of small and weirdly placed. This alarm clock filled all of the requirements, and we are pretty pleased with it.

The receiver turned out excellent: it would select and pull in any station I wanted even getting a nice clear signal on distant/weak ones. For that reason I have always used a battery powered alarm clock and not relied on an A/C power device as an alarm. Oh well, the RCR-2 will be fine. The LCD was "OK", but too bright to leave on all the time. The atomic clock on my RCR-2 synched almost immediately when I powered up the receiver. Wish I had read the review on the RCR-22 before I bought the RCR-2 as the display on the RCR-22 sounds to be much better design.

one is for the lack of a sensor for ambient light for the LCD display, now another for the loss of the radio pre-sets during the power outage. this means the loss of another star: rate this item 3-stars now, not 4. But if we have a power outage it's gonna be at least 4 hours in our area.

~~2008-02-25~~. the whole idea behind the radio control clock is that the receiver operates normally after a power outage. Easy fix, I just leave it off unless I want to read it.

As far as a lack of battery backup goes, yep, that's a problem in my area. losing the pre-sets in this manner is a great disapointment. 2008-06-09 WARNING: my RCR-2 LOST all of it's radio pre-sets during the recent power outage.
