So now the install looks sloppy. When placing the bolts be aware that you can't use the full left/right of the bracket holes. Not very stable. About 2/3 of all that cabling fit in the chases.
This makes the shelves very shaky to left/right motion. They just sit on the brackets with a small opposing lip at the back. I have a cable box, surround sound unit (6 speaker wires), XBox 360, PS2 and HDTV. The wire chases are too small. I ended up having to put a big washer between the wall and the bracket. Place the bolt to either side will result in the bolt head hitting the back of the vertical unit and preventing it from fitting.
Installation has some problems. For the price I wouldn't recommend this. The glass shelves aren't attached. Also don't tighten the bolts too tight or the vertical unit won't slide on the bracket.
It will NOT wall mount a tv as the description and photo seemed to imply to me. One can place a tv on the top shelve as long as it is a small one and weighs less than 50 pounds; even then there is nothing to secure the tv to the wall or this shelve, it simply sits on the shelf. Please also note that the price is significantly more than what Sanus sells this for. This is a sanus brand wall mount that has 2 shelves on it. They also will not accept return of this product at their retail store. It is designed to hold dvd player, tivo units, etc.
Finally, remember that when you need customer service on this that amazon can not help you, because you must contact Brookstone. I was mislead by the description and photo by brookstone into thinking this would wall mount a flat screen tv. The initial supervisor refused to talk to me and explain this product to me; when i finally was able to talk to someone they refused to send a return tag for this product sticking me with a costly return shipping (as well as loss of initial costly shipping charges). Also note that Brookstone's description does not tell you what size (in inches) tv you can use it for; that is because the manufacturer makes no such claims. I found Brookstone customer service to be very poor. When I received the box itself, it has no such description.
