Saunders 00497 RhinoSkin Aluminum Hardcase for Palm Tungsten TX/T5 Reviews

I had a Rhino Skin case for my Tungsten T3 and it protected my T3 from many a drop that would have shattered the unit had it not been in a case. Cons:. - the latch closes tight, but it's a bit hard to open. - cut out slots for access for your hotsync cable, SD cards, headphones, stylus. - solid aluminum feel. - neoprene lining to protect your TX from being bounced around. Overall, this is the best protection for the TX and I highly recommend it.

So when I bought the Palm TX Handheld, I didn't hesitate to order a Rhino Skin case for it. - the nice aluminum finish is prone to smudges and fingerprints. Pros:. - latch clicks shut (though you have to work to open it a bit).

Hopefully you won't break too many fingernails trying to do it. The TX fits in there very tightly and opening the case is a pain. I guess this was originally designed for the T5 which is why it fits the way it does. This case protects well, but getting to your palm is a different story. Wouldn't recommend this, but from what it seems there aren't too many great cases for it.

    4) It also has a fine attachment mechanism within the case (A thin piece of plastic which readily slides on to the T/X and keeps it snugly and safely within the case at all times except when it is purposely removed for using in a cradle, etc.

Perhaps the only deficiency that I am aware of from other user reviews is that some don't think that the belt clip (which I don't use anyway) attaches snug enough to a belt and could slip off.

    3) It is very easy to open and close (and stays safely closed when it needs to be closed).

    2) It has numerous cutouts for various cables, insertion of memory cards, charging cable, etc.

For some reviews that I have seen below, I can't even believe that we are talking about the same product.

I have had absolutely no problems using this sliding mechanism at all (It does take a few minutes to fully grasp the attachment mechanism process).

This is a fine product that has served me very well for over 9 months now.

    1) It is extremely well made (with the metal always quite cool to the touch).

For the love of everything sacred, do not buy this thing.

I normally don't take the time to submit a review.

The contraption is far too bulky.

The overall design is horrible, something I could make in my basement.

The texture of the material feels like a cheap toy.

The case's enclosing is unbearable, takes a good minute or so to open it.

In this case however, I feel obligated to do so.

This is by far one of the worst purchases I have ever made.

    Here's why.

As far as protection goes this thing is good. Other than that it is a bit cumbersome to open- the release tab seems like it would work better on the other half.
