SimCity 3000 Unlimited
Sim City 3000 Unlimited brings you the classic strategy gaming of Sim City 3000 with all-new scenarios that open up a whole world of city planning and building possibilities! The thrill of the classic Sim City 3000 are here again!
SimCity 3000 is back, and it's bigger than ever! Maxis pulled out all the stops for this new version of the bestselling game, adding enough new customized graphics to re-create cities from around the world. The new European and Asian building sets serve up hundreds of new buildings that match the architecture of these diverse environments. From the Great Wall to the Berlin Wall, it's in there. Of course, you can still mix and match--freedom to run a city as you choose has always been the name of this game. No addition to the SimCity family would be complete without some new methods for destroying your creations, and SimCity 3000 Unlimited has four more devastating disasters than the old version. You can re-create the movie Armageddon by unleashing large chunks of flaming space debris, smite your populace with a buzzing swarm of locusts, destroy seaports and coastal developments with a whirlpool, or uncork some toxic clouds. The Building Architect, formerly available as a free download, is now packed on the CD-ROM. This 3-D architectural program lets users create the buildings of their dreams, from dilapidated outhouses to towering skyscrapers to works of modern art that are intended for pure decoration. Don't worry if you don't feel like using this powerful tool to create things yourself--the game comes with dozens of new ways to make your cities unique, and you can always head to the SimCity Exchange to download imaginative add-ons created by other users. The infinite expandability and infinite replayability of this game should keep would-be mayors completely occupied until they move to the suburbs of The Sims.
Create and control your urban empire with more power than ever. Expand your SimCities with new customizable terrain and hundreds of new buildings, including two new building sets from Asia and Europe. Inflict four new disasters (plague of locusts, toxic cloud, space junk, and a whirlpool) on your citizens. Take on 13 challenging scenarios, from reuniting East and West Berlin to rebuilding in the aftermath of a nuclear disaster. Or, create your own scenarios with the SimCity Scenario Creator. All the great features of SimCity 3000, plus these new options, make this a SimCity without limits.

SimCity 3000 Unlimited Reviews
It can be quite challenging to a beginner, but once you've mastered the technique it gets quite boring; however, you'll easily spend several hundred hours tinkering with this one. I had a lot of fun with this game. Overall, one of the greatest games you'll find of this genre. There are plenty of mods available online, for better or worse, so that extends the replayability a touch.
it would be extremly fun if i could get my city running but i go into debt and have to get a loan i cant pay off and then i keep getting loans and i still go into negatives before i can even pay it off.ive gone trough a good 10 citys and i still havnt gotten through a year with one before i have to give up.
SIMCITY 4k Deluxe blows away SC3K. SORRY. I STILL PLAY SIM CITY 2K BECAUSE IT'S PLAYER FRIENDLY. Graphics. are good to ok. Sim City 2000 is more user/player friendly. To be honest.
Every other square in a residential and commercial are should have a bus stop. I highly recommend SimCity 3000, be it Unlimited or other edition. Click on the bus stops and watch the number of passengers, if it's low, demolish it. When you have enough money, move to high-tech industry which have no pollution.
Also don't forget to make money by selling power to the neighbors: make connections to them with roads and power lines. Sooner or later you will be offered federal objects like a mega-market, military base or waste disposal. To do that, you need highly-educated workforce. Start building your city little by little. Accept them all, it will bring you mega-cash-flow that will allow you to significantly improve your city facilities. Of course, bus stops cost money, but it will save you from traffic congestions, and you won't need to invest in expensive roads and motorways.
This game is very well-balanced, unlike SimCity 4 Rush Hour. Build a power plant, small-density residential, commercial and industrial zone, water pipes, that's it. Expand extensively: cover large areas with low-quality low-density zones. Use the cheapest streets. This is a good, well-balanced game. But watch carefully the number of attendees: only build a schools when the old are overwhelmed. Build schools, colleges, museums, and libraries.
As soon as you have small but solid cash flow, expand your city gradually. Watch your cash flow and the other maps gradually. So with health care. Only add money-eating facilities like fire station, police, education and health care when there is absolute need in it.
I personally do not see a justification for adding some content and adding the word "Unlimited" to the title, then selling it for top dollar. Since money in your pocket is limited, stick with the original classic - a title worth every penny. While the "unlimited" aspect of creating your own scenarios seems nice, don't think that you can just run the application and simply make a scenario. And if you were expecting new buildings, you get one: it's a Halloween haunted house. It looks more like an under-developed zone in your city, and the sound effects are worthless for city-building purposes. Sure, more disasters can be nice, but I am the kind of player who turns them off.
The original SimCity 3000 is good enough to stand on its own. If I am unsatisfied, I delete them and start over. (Though I would have passed on it with today's knowledge). Obviously SimCity 3000 is a superb game. You gotta read the instruction manual for sure. SimCity 3000 Unlimited doesn't really offer features that attract most gamers, however.
This might have been the rare time where I would actually approve of an expension pack version. That is, I like to actually build cities, not tear them down. Also, don't think the gameplay is changing one bit - it isn't. But if you think that new Asian and European artwork is cool enough to justify a "brand new" game separate from the original, well, you will need more money, my friend. To conclude, I recommend that you do not purchase SimCity 3000 Unlimited if you already own the original SimCity 3000.
If you don't own the original, however, the Unlimited version is a fine substitution. But hey, if you like disasters, you got four (4) more with the Unlimited version. (All of it). Nothing really comes close to it (except SimCity 4, which beats it). Tell me, where are you going to put that monstrosity.
