SingStar Amped (Stand Alone) Reviews

i actually really did know most of these songs already and 2. this volume has a great selection of old and a few newer rock songs and its a nice new challenge since the other singstar game i own that came with my PS2 is the Pop one. cant wait to try it out. we are going to have the funniest time trying to master these LOL there are some pretty low pitch songs on here and thats were our weaknesses lie soooo i can already imagine the craziness that will occur when we play this game. 1. but these singstar games are always a great time waiting to happen if you get a group together. i havnt actually PLAYED the game yet since i just got it and am waiting til a get together with my friends to bust this one out and try it out with more people which is always more fun than solo. but i did however, listen to each song to preview them and get a feel of what we'd be getting ourselves into with these and i came to realize two things.

Cheap Trick - I Want You To Want Me. David Bowie - Changes. Amped is probably my favorite. Foo Fighters - Best Of You. Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn. First thing you need to know is to not pay any attention the song list Amazon has on here, I think their's is pulled from the European version or something, I'd have to look. Free - Alright Now.

Talking Heads - Burning Down The House. Judas Priest - You've Got Another Thing Comin'. Iggy Pop - Real Wild Child (Wild One). The Killers - When You Were Young. Boston - More Than A Feeling.

Blink 182 - I Miss You. Steppenwolf - Born To Be Wild. Like on Rocks there are songs here I don't think belong on the "Amped" version. Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper.

Here's a listing of the songs on the US version. Pearl Jam - Alive. Nickelback - Savin' Me. Someone complained about having this and not being familiar with any of the songs, do you live in cave. My family has a lot of fun with Singstar and we own Amped, Rocks, '80s and Pop. Nirvana - Come As You Are.

Fall Out Boy - This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race. Audioslave - Cochise. Typical of Singstar I don't think the songs really fit their version titles though. ZZ Top - Gimme All Your Lovin'.

Sublime - Santeria. Radiohead - Creep. Stone Temple Pilots - Vasoline. Queens Of The Stone Age - Go With The Flow. - Love and Memories. Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart. Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop.

Quiet Riot - Cum On Feel The Noize. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Gold Lion. I'm pushing 50 and I know them and not because they're all from my "era" although some are. O.A.R. Alice in Chains - Would. Motorhead - Ace Of Spades.

We play it at every get together and let me tell you GUYS out there. This game is so much fun. Trust me when I say this is a five star game and a must have for every party. The women love this game.

In that way, this game is great, I get instant feedback on how well or badly I am singing. Here you do the song, then have to go through 3 or 4 annoying screens that don't have that much to do with game play (taking you picture)., before you finally get the chance to sing another song. These are fun because you unlock songs (and other things) as you go along by how well you do, so it becomes a challenge. The main downside is that the game isn't that much fun, at least in solo mode. The song selection here is about right, as it is rock songs. I got this game because I need more practice singing, and a non biased judge to tell me instantly how I am doing. I don't have any other singing games, but I do have a couple DDR games and a guitar hero game.

Even so, I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying this game. I was basically picturing a slightly tweaked version of Karaoke Revolution, which we have had for a while now. The only downside I could see was the limitation of songs. This is ideal for obvious reasons-its just more fun to butcher your favorite songs. (And thoroughly enjoying beating everyone on I Miss You and Santeria). For one thing, buying by genre makes it easier to pick out the game with songs that you are already familiar with.

When my sister convinced me that we HAD to have SingStar, I wasn't sure to expect. I pleasantly surprised, however to see just how different it is. With only about 30 songs per game, you can start feeling a bit limited, especially when comparing it to the vast song selection of Karaoke Revolution. I also like how it shows the actual music video in the background, and the playback option insured hilarity.
