The Sirius SUP-H1 universal plug 'n' play home kit comes with everything you need to play your Sportster 3, Sportster 4, Starmate 3, Starmate 4, and Stratus satellite radio receiver through your home stereo speakers. The kit is designed around a handy mounting cradle, which holds your receiver in a single easy-to-access location. Just slide your Sirius receiver into the cradle and rest it on a tabletop, desk, bookshelf, or entertainment center. Once the receiver is mounted, users have two listening options: they can rely on the receiver's built-in FM transmitter, or they can run the included RCA audio cable between the cradle's audio output and the stereo. The latter option delivers a better overall sound, but is slightly more cumbersome. The bundled antenna, meanwhile, is fully weatherproof, so you can install it indoors or outdoors depending on where the satellite signal is strongest. Finally, the kit comes with an AC adapter that powers your Sirius receiver and a spacer for the docking station (required for the non- Sportster models). In sum, the kit delivers access to more than 130 streams of original Sirius programming beamed coast to coast, including 65 streams of commercial-free, digital-quality music, along with multiple news, talk, sports, entertainment, and children's stations. He likes having it hooked up listening to it while watching the race on tv. Otherwise we like it alot. It wasn't that hard for him to install inside the house but the only down side is we have to remmeber to take the radio back to the truck when we go somewhere so we can have it to listen to whlie driving. I bought this for my husband for father's day and he like it.
Installation was so easy, there was almost nothing to it.
Now I couldn't live without it.
All streaming audio is blocked in our office so I ordered this product hoping to provide some entertainment during the day. I was a little worried about the antenna reception since I'm in a large cement building but I haven't had a problem at all.
There's a jack in back you can hook up a stereo, speakers or headphones to so it's pretty versatile.
I highly recommend this to anyone.
We actually get reception in our garage and there is no window to point it out of. We would definitely recommended purchasing this item. As soon as we opened the window the reception was great. We have had good luck with this item, so far. The only down side is we were using it in our basement and had it pointed through the glass of the window, and the window exterior is dirty because it's spring here and the dirt from our non-landscaped yard keeps getting on the window.
Enjoyed the benefit of coming home and connecting up my home stereo. Works great Great value.
So, again, you may need it or not. Unfortunately, my wife rarely removes the Sirius from the car to the house and secondly, I can listen to Sirius from the computer & blare it out loud when I'm cleaning up. Once the decision was made to buy Satelite radio for the car; my wife said she wanted something for the home. With this kit, we used everything once except for the docking station (I think it works with the Sportster models).
