This antenna can also function not only as a Home Unit Base, but a mobile car base. It is nice not to have to run a car antenna out and stick it to the roof in a vehicle that I'm not going to be in very often. I used it on a 500 mile trip with a xm sure connect fm unit and this did not miss a beat picking up a signal. Definate essential for XM enthusiest. I purchased this third antenna to make my car unit completely portable from my main car to secondary cars that I drive on trips. I have two home units and a car kit for my Xpress EZ Unit.
I coupled this antenna with a Signal repeater and it works just fine. It's an essential part for listening to XM satellite radio at home. This is an essential part for adding versatility for home use.
