I needed to transfer everything to a new computer. Old computer had Firewire 400,new one Firewire 800. No one seemed to have a cable for this. Adapter did the job and the cost was so reasonable. Could not ask for a better tool or a better price. Perfect!!!!!!

I recently purchase a new iMac and discovered it only had a Firewire 800 and USB connection. This allowed meto get my 1TB HD back online. Only complaint is it is too long.
Bought it for use with a Macbook pro, it works fine, cheaper than buying a new cable.
