Included battery is fine. Mind you we were also able to fit out digital camera in the bag, but I would try and find a smaller bag just for the camera. Sony recommends this bag for our camcorder the HDR-SR11, but it is way bigger than it needs to be. Good price too.
I like to carry a lot of accessories so I do like the bag. It's actually bigger (in width, due to the side pouches) than my old bag which came with my Sony Hi-8 Handicam. But if you want something that you can put your digital camera in or some other similar-sized item, this is good. It's a nice case with lots of very handy pouches but if you want something smaller, pretty close to size of camcorder, look at something else. I've got the Sony HDR-HC9 and if I stood it on it's side in the bag I could easily fit two of these inside the main compartment.
It holds the camcorder, charger, connection cables, extra battery, and a few misc items. The kit is a great value, for less than the price of the battery, you get the battery and a case. The size of the carry case is just right. A must for anyone purchasing a new camcorder.
I bought the Sony DCR-SR82 and this bag is perfect, just the amount of space for all the cords, docking station and extra batteries etc. LOVE IT.
Can't go wrong with this package. Bought this after finally purchasing a replacement for my very aged Sony 8mm camcorder. At the price it's like getting the bag for $10.00, if you already plan on purchasing a second battery. Battery allows much better record time as opposed to the one that ships with the camcorder (Sony HDR-SR11). Bag is big enough to hold camcorder, and cables etc.
