Although one would assume that a DVD Writer would make DVD movies, this unit comes with a Nero program on a disk that contains a trial version only of Nero's Vision 4 Essentials SE. I believe Sony's original advertising for this DVD writer is misleading to say the least. Instead, you will be directed to a Nero web site where you are urged to buy a complete Nero program (costing far more than this DVD Writer, if you bought it on sale). After you have burned a couple of DVD movies you will find that the program will no longer work.
