Sony SS-B1000 5.25" Bookshelf Speakers (Pair) Reviews

The Walkman Mini-Disc has a cult-like following but is of no consequence to the company's struggle to keep up with the competition even in a falling stock market. Be aware that these have no receptacles accepting RCA, mini and similar plugsjust spring-clips for attaching bare speaker wire. No, they won't vibrate the walls or give you a massage treatment, but they reproduce everything from a symphony orchestra to a jazz ensemble to solo piano or acoustic guitar with absolute faithfulness (fidelity). The emergence of Blue Ray as the industry standard for DVDs has barely made a difference to the bottom linecertainly not enough to atone for the company's earlier loss of Beta to VHS. Sony is having lots of trouble these daysfrom making a competitive HDTV set in the face of Samsung's domination to alienating an international customer base by encoding CDs with a virus capable of infecting and paralyzing users' computers.

And they won't work with your iPod or big screen TV without an amplifier. They'll complement any quality amplifier and satisfy all but the most zealous sub-sonic freak. Still, they're high-efficiency speakers that sound clean, undistorted, and unstrained when driven by as little as 20 watts (RMS) per channel. So I look to Sony for "traditional" technology along with value and quality. These are speakers that might have been sold 40 years agobut at several times the price.

For the price, they are an excellent value. And a Velodyne sub which is nice. At times these little speakers work pretty good after adjusting the receiver. I have the Sony SS-B3000 speakers for the main speakers which are excellent. Sony SS-B1000 5.25" Bookshelf Speakers (Pair) Bought a pair of these speakers for rear surround sound. Other time's, depending on what I'm listening to, you can't really hear them. Just need to do alot of adjustments to get much out of them.

They are made well and the small size is a plus. The only thing lacking are some mounting brackets on the back. These are a great set of speakers; I have 2 sets. They have just the right amount of peak watts at 120. Very nice sound from my vintage Kenwood KR 7600 receivers. Highly recommend buying them.Sony SS-B1000 5.25" Bookshelf Speakers (Pair)

Great range and performace for there size and price. These speakers are a bargain for the price. I have a lot of Sony products and prefer to buy Sony quality.

The sounds are incredible, very pleased with this purchase, completed my 7.1 channel system.couldn't be happier.
