It was impossible to reset both the AM/FM stations. This is my 4th Sony. It is perfect for my uses-listening to tapes, radio both AM/FM. Two complaints: The mechanism doesn't warn far enough in advance when the battery is wearing out. Problem, I had wanted to listen to a special program. The tape worked throughout and wasn't affected bu the glitch.
Having used the walkman many times in this same location there had never been a problem before. One other problem occurred with radio settings. Oddly, several hours later and in another location, it was possible to reset the stations and use the radio. I am not sure what caused this to happen-possibly an external interference. Thus, it's a good idea to carry an extra battery-just in case. One day, suddenly the prorgam I was listening to went off and the settings on the radio switched by themselves.

cassette players I had been using. Overall, this is an exceptional value. I could no longer find any local retailers selling the portable.
The Walkman has great sound. for your money. less expensive ones I used before.
I was not disappointed. Being an avid listener of books on tape I was upset when.
I recommend when not in use to take out the battery, to avoid draining the battery life. no bells and whistles to this walkman, just a basic 80's type version. Fine cassette player for simple use.
My only disappointment would be in the radio reception. The tape works great and I enjoy buying from Amazon. But since I live in the country I wasn't expecting much. The price was reasonable and it arrived in a timely manner. I wanted this mainly for listening to book tapes and/or radio when I'm outside.
I'm ordering this one as a backup. Also, the sound is great. This is the second Sony Cassette player I've ordered. I love it. It only uses one AAA battery; and it has a long life.
