Speck ArmorSkin Case for iPod touch (Black) Reviews

There are absolutely no problems with the case itself. It's a very soft silicone shell for your iPod, and unlike many other cases, you can still dock the iPod and use your headphones without even so much as disturbing the case, and the grenade style grip is a plus too. Please. Although most of the bubbles smooth out easily and it fits well, once again the tabs you use to remove it from its backing are GLUED TO THE SCREEN PROTECTOR. But that's fine in my opinion. It never works, and only ruins the protector when you remove it. I suppose I can't complain too much about that though, since it's still less than others I've seen, and performs much better. What I can complain about however is the terrible design of the screen protector included in the package.

First off, the case actually covers up the player up to the bottom of the screen. Stop doing this. It functions just like any other screen protector, sticking like a window cling to ward off dust and scratches. Overall, you have a pretty decent case here with the only thing holding it back from being better is the price and the poor design of the screen protector. However, it's still a bit pricey for a silicon case in my opinion since you can find them for pretty much everything else imaginable for far less.

It also protects it from being dropped on the sides, back or front, although the screen is unprotected except for the plastic film cover. Easy to put on and take off the ipod, and has a nice feel to it.

The rubberized tire-like texture looks and feels great and gets lots of compliments, although the "clear screen protector" is a throwaway item impossible to make stick properly (be fore-warned).

When hitting the sleep/power button, the case flexes quite a bit which makes me think it will probably start to rip/crumble in that area first. The instructions were a little lacking for how to place the clear plastic protector over the screen I think I used the right one. The data port and headphone jack are exposed, though, so if you keep the iPod in your pocket, I would go with a different case due to lint build-up. The rubber case is great and will probably give some great protection. But it doesn't seem to affect touch functionality.

I keep mine typically in my bag, though, so don't have this problem yet. The film has a clear plastic backing and I chose to use the thicker one, but maybe I was suppsoed to use the thinner one. But I've only had it a month and so far it's fine. I've been using this cover for about a month now and so far it has been fine.

Originally I had peeled off one side of the protective clear sheet and stuck it on my iPod touch. Turns out both sides of the protective clear sheet have plastic that need to be pulled off. I did have some questions on the product and Speck customer support emailed me back the same day. Can't think of anything bad to say about it. I have had this iPod Touch case for 2 weeks and it work good.
