Spiderman: Friend or Foe Reviews
I like how the tips come up on the screen, and the tokens and other goodies actually chase Spidey down rather than the kids having to remember to go and pick them up. My two sons, age 9 and 4, love this game. Older kids and adults will probably find this game too easy with too much of the same stuff, but my little ones love it and would play it for hours if I let them. For us, it was a good purchase. It's action-packed but reasonably predictable for young ones. The graphics and voice work is superb, and very amusing.
I appreciated the fact that you didn't have to wander around trying to figure out where to go like many other video games. Tons of action, tons of fun. This game is a ton of fun right out of the box. Each enemy has a unique feel to them with their own unique abilities. I'm an adult and I found this game to be a total blast. This game gives you the opportunity to play as Spider Man's enemies once you defeat them. The game is addicting.
You can also upgrade your abilities and those of your sidekicks. It's fun being able to change your sidekick and then change back to Spider-Man whenever you want. Great comic book character game. Playing as Spider-Man is a total blast. You use your web to spin enemies around and sling them.
If you're looking for a more kid-friendly game, give this one a try. He loves playing it and so do his friends. It's not as dark as some of the other Spiderman games he's played so he enjoys it much more. I got this game for my son about a month ago.
If you are an adult and want a game you probably can solve in a day, then rent this one and save yourself some money. Not only do you get heroes like Blade, Black Cat, Iron Fist and the Prowler, but you also get classic villains like Sandman, Lizard, Green Goblin, Venom, Scorpion and more. The fun of the game is unlocking the new characters to play. There are a few combos, but it is very simple to learn. The puzzles are easy to beat and we had no trouble finding our way around.
Once in a while the camera view is a bit wonky, but it is not bad overall. If you have a child at home, this is a great game to play with them. The game was fun in two player mode. Though they do level up and change appearance as you go along. This is a typical beat 'em up game with lots of button mashing.
I played and solved this game in about 8-9 hours with my nine year old son. Vulture, Hobgoblin, Kraven, and Electro are just a few that could be used. I hope they make a sequel since there are plenty of spidey villains and heroes left untouched by this one. As an adult the game levels were a bit repetitive since you basically fight the same phantoms level after level.
and I would have liked if they had used more detailed cutsenes (like the one at the beginning). oh, and by the way, when you first buy the game and play it, it is way to dark, so I had to ajust the brightness. Its really fun until the very end (Venom was a HUGE dissapointment because you just ring a bell and he dies). plus it was waaaayyyy to short. Definetely should be baught.
