Stanton S-250 Top-Loading Single DJ CD Player

Stanton's most affordable CD player for DJ's comes complete with fader start and digital outputs. No other CD player in its price range has the quality and features, not to mention the ergonomic design, of the S-250. Plus this CD player is the only ...

Stanton's sturdy S-250 top-loading single CD player boasts all the features you need to incorporate CDs into your club DJ performances. Among its essentials are both instant and fader starts--ideal for introducing new discs, tracks, or passages to the mix; selectable pitch ranges of +/- 8, 12, and 16 percent; and a pitch bend button that temporarily speeds or slows the pitch to 6 percent. Stanton added another benefit by placing the control panel and LED screen toward the front of the unit, giving DJs easy access to the functions in the midst of a frenzied performance. DJs can also use the S-250 to set cue points and create loops.

The S-250's display is easy to read, with lines for a CD's elapsed and remaining time (in minutes and seconds), in addition to symbols that indicate frame, pitch, and looping status. It also connects simply to other components through the stereo line audio output (for connecting to a DJ mixer) and the coaxial digital S/PDIF output (for connecting to a computer sound card or CD burner). The CD player measures 8.5 by 3.46 by 10.83 (W x H x D) and carries a one-year warranty on parts and labor.

Stanton S-250 Top-Loading Single DJ CD Player Reviews

I own(ed) a total of four of them, and considering that we use one at each studio, that means each current unit is a replacement.

I added the replacement plan after the 2nd failure, which paid for itself for number 3.

Can't say anything about cue or any other features, as we don't use them.

The play button stops being responsive, its not stuck, but the intructor have to hardpress it several times to get it to play, and after a while (based on 2 previous failures), even that won't trigger a response anymore.

We operate two dance studios, our Cd players are used every day.

Number 3 is failing now again, too.

I thought a DJ system is built for heavy use, well, this one isn't.

Just play, some fast forward/return when the girls practice a certain move.

Yes, I could get it replaced again, but since that means that I have a dance studio for one day at least w/o a CD player, I am switching brands now.

For beginners this product is great and as bonus there cheap.(in price)I own several Stanton products.(turntables)I am happy with them and feel comfortable recomending thier products. I own two, use them for mixing. Allows you to cue the CD plus raise/lower pitch etc.(see product description)They have never skipped or scratched my CD's.

It worked great until this last week. If so, I'll certainly upgrade the rating. I have used this for only about 2 months for my business. I didn't receive any warranty or trouble-shooting information with the product, only basic operational instructions. So, now I'm in the process of tracking this information. I'm getting a delayed start time and much skipping. I am no longer able to use it for my business because of it's inconsisitency. Hopefully, this can be resolved satisfactorily (and quickly).
