Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike Reviews
You can play bonus missions like Attack on the Executor and Flight from Bespin. Those are my favorites because they are challenging and fun. You get to protect a rebel transport that is programmed to run into a shield station. This game is awesome because there are three arcade games that you can play that were released by Atari in 1983. I would recommend this game to every Star Wars fan. There are also lots of other cool things about this game that I love, but my favorite mission is Fondor Shipyard Assault. It's like in the movies, but different because the player gets to be a part of the action.
The npcs in this game are way to easy, and the ground combat blows.this is supposed to be a flight sim game anyway. Rogue squadron 2 was really fun compared to this game.
I dare you to bring down a AT-AT on Hoth and tell me it wasn't great fun. You know whatever you say about the look of the game and the fact that it has a few game play issues, doesn't detract from what it is.a good fun Star Wars game.
Sound 5 of 5. Replayabilty ( single player) 3 of 5. when it came out, and i loved it, the story was intense and the graphics were incredible for the time. In three, they introduced runnning around on the ground which, I kid you not, takes up a good 75% of the single player game. This is all ship fights, and the AI is much smarter than in single player, For instance, If you open fire on a squad of ties, they will split up and try to get on your tail.
Lucas Arts put a lot of time into making the game look and sound good, so no problems there. All in all its an okay game, but if you want a game that does a better job try battlefront or battlefront 2. So For Multiyplayer i give it a. And to make single player better they added AT-STs to the mix. So y three stars. Replayabliity is also an issue, the game leaves you wanting more, (single player) and then when you play it agin it fails to satisfy. So (years later) when the second one came out I bought it right away.
The third one (rebel strike) was much hyped, and even though the second one had dissopoinded me, I still bought it. Dispite its faults, its an okay game, just don't expect to spend a whole lot of time in an X-wing or any other fitgher for that matter. Single player 3 of 5. Grapics 5 of 5.
Rouge squadron had always been about flying fighters, in one and two, thats what you did. Multyplayer 5 of 5. The reason this game didn't get a Three star or two star, is because of Coop and Multyplayer,. The Camera angles when you on the ground are verry sloppy and you can't always see what you want to,. Don't get me wrong, walkers are fun, but the main goal of rogue squadron is fighter craft. On top of coop their are many differnet ways for multiplayer, such as Death Match, Walker duels, and speeder bike racing. The story on one hand followed the movies, and on the other hand it revealed a little more behind the secenes, and a side story kept you guessing.
I played the first Rogue Sqad. If you gona buy this game make sure you have somone to play it with, so that you get your money's worth. However their was no story like the first one, with a few additions, it simply followed the movies. The single player tryed to blend fighters with ground, and did so very sloppy. On top of which, the levels are more cut scences than they are playing. (Sorry about the spelling) I was amazed, that with the progression in AI, the emey ships would no longer fly in patterns and shoot, they would now break off and attack you, so would your wingmates, who were now 50% more effecent.
So heres the ratings. Story 4 of 5. And you only get to use the walkers in two levels. Which allow two players two play.
I have not played the other Rogue Squadron games, maybe they are better. The only even partially good missions (no missions are any good, I just mean the ones that are better than others) are the ones in which you are in space in a starfighter. I wish I could give this game ZERO STARS. There is only one weapon, the gun, and one way to use it. On land, walking, you can't see what you are doing most of the time, and there are only a few controls: shoot your gun, move, and roll or jump. Aiming is strange, the game is overall completely boring, with a hideous storyline that gets old fast, and poor controls. You cannot change the camera angle at all; sometimes you can't see where you are or what you are doing. DO NOT EVER WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS GAME.
