Crusader provides huge armies and huge battles - over 10,000 units on the battlefield. New buildings - Outposts provide hordes of attacking enemies to deal with. It's more than extreme battle. This is an RTS (realtime strategy) game that keeps you thinking. There are AI characters with different personalities and constructs that you have to 'deal' with to plot your way to conquer the enemies. Be careful! This is a game where the stakes are greater than they seem.

The game is the same ole Stronghold Crusader with very little change. The add ons they talk about in the game were added on in the war chest versian and they make sound like it's brand new; it's not. Added on a differant mode but it's a mode that's the same as the previous game but mainly just a harder level of play. Definately not worth buying.
Original Crusader was much more enjoyable. Stick with the original Stronghold and Crusader games and play other's maps. I haven't played this game more than a couple times. Extreme additions are more distracting than strategic.
finally they made a good update for stronghold, the first one was good then they went the way of the sims and they sucked but this one is a winner
And I should also mention its now Vista compatible, and the multiplayer aspect also adds a lot more depth to the game. And there is a whole lot of game here, especially if you are new to Crusader. This is not state of the art in the graphics department. But I recommend it whole heartedly.
I have bought this game three seperate times, once as regular Stronghold Crusader, then I bought the Warchest which contained Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader+some extras, and now I have bought Stronghold Crusader Extreme. Are they willing to spend the cash for a lot more men, outposts, a new trail, and some tactical powers. To be honest I love this game, and this new version brought it back to life for me. This is a five star game then and now, I deducted a point though. This is one of the best games of alltime.
There is also a new 10,000 man cap, so expect a lot more action in this version. Its like Stronghold Crusader on steroids, and this game still has its charm, and it still is VERY INTENSE. This game is very good. But there is a downside. I was and Im glad I did. There is no real market for this game besides the hardcore fan who probably owns a lot of this games content already.
Thats why I gave it a five star fun factor. As a matter of fact the original was the first product I ever wrote a review for on Amazon. It contains the original Stronghold Crusader+the Warchest extras, and now it has a new trail, with 20 extreme missions, and tactical powers like arrow volleys that can kill most enemies on screen. New people to Stronghold Crusader need to realize the original game is from 2002 and buy it for its gameplay, instead of for eyecandy.
