I was able to lift it onto a platform that is about 4 feet high without any struggles (I am a female over 60 yoa. I actually put in a barn to hold our dairy goat milking machine, pails, supplies, etc. The door latches were a real plus. This is a very nice, roomy, easy to move storage shed. It has done a good job of keeping the equipment dust free (considering the barn environment) and out of reach of the inquisitive goats.
To keep the top open, you'll need a few more inches to lean the top back. I tried to return the shed to RestockIt. That would have cost $70 half the value of the shed. The real depth of the storage box is more than 26" and the box says 26-1/2". RestockIt said it was my fault because they shipped what I ordered but I ordered a shed to fit in a 26" space.
I bought this horizontal storage shed to fit in a narrow space on the side of my house. I didn't have that space. However, the hinges take up more room and the shed can only be opened by raising the top. You should allow 29-30" minimum. The shed is advertised on Amazon and the Suncast web site as being 26" deep.
Another shed I ordered from Amazon was also too big but Amazon was had UPS pick it up without a problem. Although they shipped from Sacramento to my home in Manhattan Beach, they insisted I return the shed at my cost to their Florida location.
Plug the holes in the bottom from mice.spray in foam worked well.the hard-ploy type and watch the wasp or bee nests. Takes a beating.we use it for a small generator. ok a couple. Only one thing.
The cabinet arrived from Amazon in a sad condition. The very bottom of the cabinet was cracked close to the right front corner and the front left door was damaged (it buckled). The very large package was left on my front door step without a packing slip. The cabinet is much too large to return so I had to glue together the cracked part and live with the repair and the buckled front door.
Received the product very quickly appreciate having it delivered instead of picking it up. Recommend if placing on ground to purchase 6 of the concrete patio pavers (16 X 16) they fit perfectly under it to provide a base so water and dirt does not get inside. I plan on ordering another to keep garden tools in before the price changes. Great price and very easy to put together, I did not really need to use the directions.
