Sunpak 620-092 9002DX Tripod with 3-Way Quick-Release Pan Head Reviews
Amazon had to ship a replacement tripod to me due to it being damaged the first time. This tripod has bubble leveling on the tripod body, as well as on the heads. Both packages were packed very poorly and I am surprised the second tripod works properly. The quick-release heads are very useful if you have more than one camera. I would recommend this product to a casual photographer who is looking to stabilize their camera in almost any situation. Once I was able to get past that, this tripod is what I expected.
I have been looking for a tripod for quite some time. Highly recommended. I'm very pleased with this product. With what I paid for on Amazon, it's worth every penny. I use this when recording my baby's daily activity and it's definitely doing its job well. Then I found this one on Amazon, which I think might be a discontinued item because it's not on Sunpak web site. I went to the store to see the real thing, but was disappointed at how small the cheap ones are (and of course, the bigger ones are very expensive). It's well-made, very sturdy and more than enough for an average user like me.
For the price, it would be tough to find a better tripod. It seems pretty well built for the price. The tripod is lightweight, and fairly sturdy.
Just don't expect $100 performance from it. I'm using it mostly for stargazing with my Celestron 15x70 binoculars, and it works well. I wasn't expecting much from a $30 tripod, but I'm happy with the 9002DX.
If you need something for 'heavy-duty' work, then look at something better. It is rated as 'medium duty', and I agree with that. I've also used it to take some nighttime pictures.
The head became very loose on this tripod after only a few weeks. I lost it and will but a different one.
great tripod, easy to use and lightweight without feeling flimsy. I used my Nikon D200 and it more than handled the weight of the camera. I did find it a bit cumbersome carrying it through the airport as it didn't lock and would suddenly open if I grabbed it a certain way.
