Finally, lights that are bright enough to read by without straining, and, at a fair price.
These are my first long lived, low wattage replacement bulbs, and I could not be more satisfied. Every incandescent in the house will be replaced by these when they die.
Great price at Amazon. Saving electricity and $$. What can you say about a light bulb.
It takes about 1 to 2 seconds for them to initially light, and another 30 seconds or so to be fully lit. They are a bit slow to start, that is to get to full brightness. I find these bulbs to be very bright and a great value. Getting these new bulbs also got me around to FINALLY cleaning the lamp shades and globes:-).
There are some studies showing that natural light improves your mood, especially during the winter when there is less daylight. That may be a bit of wishful thinking, but it made me feel good to save a lot of money and use less electricity using a compact fluorescent. These fit readily into standard lamp sockets and turn on quickly. Note: it is not recommended to use any cfl bulb outdoors where exposed to the elements. I compared these directly with the GE 23 watt model and slightly prefer these bulbs from Sylvania, because the light is a bit more like natural daylight (3000K Color Temp) than the slightly more yellow GE (2700K), which is more like a traditional incandescent color.
