Tactics Ogre

Based on the popular Ogre Battle games, Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis marks the first installment of the series on a portable platform. As Alphonse, a knight of Galicia, you're sent to investigate the intentions of the suspect governing body of the Holy Lodis Empire and solve the mystery of Ovis. Players will encounter many battles to test their wit and strength, and their experiences will determine the true nature of their characters, as well as game's possible endings. The game offers more than 40 hours of gameplay, as well as a head-to-head battle mode via the separately sold Game Boy Advance link cable.

Tactics Ogre Reviews

In some cases I had trouble understanding what they were doing, since most "E" games are really easy to understand. You'll never see them again. Healing is a must. Be wary if your characters are huddled together, because I spell might vanquish your men. A simple conclusion.

Thanks for reading. The only con about this is that the battles are LONG. It's 15 years after a reformation, and your going to an island to stop a rebellion/conflict. Well, first, let's start off with the story. - Battles may take longer than you think. It's actually like your character's in a war. It is almost impossible to get through this game without a healing class. I learned this the hard way.

Simple, eh. This story is amazingly deep. PROS:. - Numerous Weapons and Classes. This game is so deep that it is not humanly possible to explain every point to the game. As for the gameplay, it's awesome.

Then comes the enemy phase, and you must be ready. Haha, no. Basically, you choose a character and command it to your own will. Geh, if your guys aren't beefed up then it might take a while. An onslaught of fierce or maybe foolish attacks will be against you. CONS:.

- Choices may hurt in the long run and you may not know it. - Deep Story. - Not being able to spell-cast automatically is annoying. Treason, battles, death, choices and decisions, and even a turn of events which can lead you against friends. - Battle style never gets old. If your characters die, they die.

Be careful, this game will suck up your time. If you are an Advance Wars fan as I am then this game should be a part of your collection. Get extra batteries. As an adult it is hard to find games for the Gameboy Advance that keep my attention for long.

The gameplay is involving. The game, while not graphicly astounding, still looks beautiful. I have played through the game about eight times now. If you're looking for a great portable game to joyfully eat up hours over a long trip this is a definite, but I think this game is worth playing even over most new rpgs for the latest and greatest home systems. I have owned this game for quite some time and I also own just about every other video game system ever made. The character class system is wonderful. The possiblility of multiple paths as well as different endings makes this game new ever time you play it. The music is the only thing I think could be better, but it is only a minor thing.

The storyline is intriguing enough to keep you interested, also, rather than just speeding through the cut scenes to fight the next battle. Game play is pretty intuitive, I was able to pick up the game and play without having to read much of the manual at all. Though this game is turn-based, I was not dissapointed at all. The graphics are well done, I enjoy the stylized fantasy sprites. All in all if you enjoy turn-based strategy games, Tactics Ogre is worth the money you spend on it. I picked up Tactics Ogre a while back hoping for an enjoyable rpg experience.

Two words:REPLAY VALUE. THAT is how you know what story will be told. You will have to beat it about 10 times until you get all the storylines. One feature I love is that when you defeat one enemy, they will usually drop a bag, and inside is an item. You can also PERSUADE people to join on the battlefield.

You are part of an army and then you go on your seperate way. Much like FFT you have a little map an you go to places doing missions, gaining new weapons, earning spells, going to shops, and having to deal with the regular fantasy world of this Medival age. Also a great thing you can have Beasts in your army, Octopuses, Dragons, Griffins, etc.,etc. Such as you need a sniper emblem to gain an archer.

This is a great feature instead of waiting around for a unit to randomly come. it can be a weapon, stat raiser, or a herb of some sort. -You can't save during battles. now the story, A BIT to predictable though.

See my Review on FFTA which is titled "After two years.". Ahhh. -Battle style is a bit repetitive, not a big variety of weapons. Thank you for reading my review, and I hope it helps.

I had to stop, so I hooked it up to my charger to play it when i got back, but know it says like 30 hours when it should be 20. To start off, this game is much like FFT, yet not as good, such as the storyline, but I won't go on, this game came before FFT anyway. Mind you it's always a very, very, VERY, low percent, some units are better at persuading than others. Ehehehe.also there are other parts BUT you "choose" what path/story you will take. Yet, there are some major cons.

That means. - Hired units always are level one, unless you give more money. You earn different emblems in order to gain jobs. One great feature is you can HIRE units in shops. The class build up is great to.

At the beginning of the game, you get your fortune told and you choose what path you will take, what oath, etc. -Storyline still isn't really deep, a bit dull.
