It is extremely fast, as fast as they come and I have found no faults with it. It is exceptionally quiet and reliable. I bought the black unit because it fit with my case. Teac has been making these drives and other electronic equipment for years and this continues to prove they have earned the excellent reputation they deserve. This is a very high quality CD-RW CD drive from Teac.

Suits my needs at the moment. NOT a DVD burner. Inexpensive CD burner.
