Terk SIRMINI SIRIUS Satellite Radio Roof Mount Antenna Reviews

Amazon doesn't show the connection plug. Assuming Terk hasn't upgraded their design from the one I have, the quality is very poor. My plug is not solid; rather, it is a circle of thin flanges, which quickly break.

If you look at the side of your new plastic connection, you will see a little purple tab that needs to be pulled out with a small flat tool. It may take a little tugging and twisting, but they should come out. You will know it is properly plugged in when you can replace the little tab back on. It may take a few tries.

My little tab was white.

Keep this tab so you can put it back on. Once the tabs are out, you should be able to disconnect the antenna wires from the plastic pieces.

You will have to push hard in order for it to plug all the way in. Plug the new antenna into the plastic piece on your tuner.

You should also see a little tab on your current broken antenna connection that needs to be pulled out with a small flat tool. I just received my Terk replacement antenna with the FAKRA style connector.

I have a Kenwood KTC-SR901 Sirius tuner. The radio should work properly after this.

Much smaller and less obtrusive than my original antenna. Since I was without the service for over a month, I was eager to install the antenna right away. At first I was a little worried that Clarion might have a proprietary connection on the receiver. If your are replacing an old antenna, make sure you get all of the old doubleface tape off. Easier said than done.

After checking the connector where the antenna connects to the receiver, I saw they were identical. Next I put the antenna where it's going to sit on the vehicle. This antenna was a replacement item for my original antenna. It's a pretty painless swap out. Upon initial inspection, I was surprised to see how small the unit is. After getting everything in place and making sure everything is working properly, get the alcohol swab supplied with the kit, and wipe off the area between the antenna base and where the wire enters your vehicle. Now you can peel the doubleface tape and place the antenna in it's permanent position.

You want to route the wire before you peel off the doubleface tape that holds the wire in place. The black color seems to blend in better than the old grey one. I have a "Sirius ready" Clarion head unit with a seperate reciever in the rear hatch. First I cleaned the area on my roof with a rag and water where it was going to be installed.

wrong antenna did'nt and would not fit the radio. E-mailed said it was the wrong one, ask for a exchange, no responce.

I still haven't installed it on my roof. There is a purple retainer on the side of the green plastic piece that pops right out. With that out, you can gently pry the plastic piece off the plug and it fits right into your radio. They should include instructions on how to get it off for the technically challenged. It is just sitting on my dash and I'm getting great reception. The people that are complaining about the plug must not be very observant people. This antenna works better than the one that came with my Radio.
