The Bard's Tale

The Bard's Tale was the great-grandfather of modern-day Computer role-players. This updated version brings back the fun and adventure, as you play The Bard -- a hero who's only after coins and cleavage. Is a dragon attacking a village? He'll face it, for the right price. Has a princess been kidnapped? He'll save her, but only if she's hot. Comedy and fantasy action combine for a uniqe 3D role-playing experience!

The Bard's Tale Reviews

The playing was fun, the rat scenerio was awesome. Overall, this game was fun but not intense. I really enjoyed the bars & songs. Just awesome. This is not addictive but worth the money. Pretty easy to catch on which was great for this new gamer.

It suffers from a lot of the same problems that so many games suffer from Its flashy it looks cool, but it is way too short and has absolutely no replay value. Its not its fault it just suffers because its an Xbox adaptation. I liked the concept of Bards Tale but quirky and fun does not equal "good". .

As for the attempt at humor, forget it. The poor interface and hideous execution make this one of the worst games I've ever tried to play. If you want to throw away money, buy this game. The best thing about this game is the tolerable intro in the booklet that comes with it.

I had to battle my teenage son for computer time to complete the quests. I was more than pleasantly surprised by the Bard's Tale. He played the game as well. I confess that I prefer playing games sitting around a table. From the witty banter to the nice game play, reasonable puzzles, and "snarky" hints, this game is a classic. This is not a re-release of a classic game; it is an entirely new game that is extremely well done. It is a social thing for me.

I would buy a used copy though. I can still hear those nasty little goblins. In summary if you want a game that provides a good diversion for a short amount of time (about 20 hours) this one is worth the money. replay value is really non-existent.

singing. This game is really fun. The graphics were choppy on my system (but I have a better system now & haven't tried it on this one yet) The game is hilarious in parts. my complaints were that it is pretty much linear in it's design without many choices in dialogue & exploration.
