The 'Big Kahuna' AMAZING 95 LED Aluminum Flashlight Reviews
I have every light made. I have lasers too. I have many led light of all sizes and this is the coolest. This lights up the woods or your house with the whitest brightest light I Have seen. Great output but wide( which I wanted. 3,000,000 watts down to night lights.
I like the white light the Big Kahuna's LED's give off, as opposed to the yellowish light of most other bulbs. Complaints: batteries rattling inside cause flickering of light; tempered glass would be better than the polycarbonate plastic; made in China; no customer service contact for parts or repairs; would like a lantern style rather than long maglite type shape; poorly made on/off switch that falls off (I used painter's tape to keep it on; obviously not waterproof or even water resistant; would like a plastic casing option rather than aluminum;. I do a lot of hiking at night. I am in the market for a second powerful LED flashlight, but have decided to wait a bit to see what turns up in the market, rather than buy another Kahuna. Many hours of use with rechargeable D cells (I use Powerizer brand, about 10 x the amperage of Energizer rechargeable D's). The Rayovac 4D cell lantern flashlight with krypton bulb is also bright and white, but the Kahuna is whiter, and doesn't wash out your viewing field with too bright a light, thus allowing you to see animals' eyes reflected back at you, even from 100+ meters. The krypton bulb doesn't show up animals' eyes nearly as well as the LED, which is important in mountain lion and bear country. I use the Kahuna daily and it blows away my LED headlamp lights I bought through REI.
It was a little expensive, but the Kahuna really puts out the light. A great choice. I live in a rural area, and found that the light is not only bright, but reaches far like the typical D-cell Mag lights.
I also have the Coleman Dual Action Widebeam. This puts out so much light you'll be amazed. It doesn't compare to the Big Kahuna.
This thing puts out a huge amount of light.Although not focused I can illuminate my large backyard with it well enough to see anything. It's like the sun (almost) in the house. Great light for the money.
