Despite all the hoopla surrounding the next generation consoles, the most anticipated gaming event of this year is undoubtedly the latest The Legend of Zelda game. Subtitled Twilight Princess, the game looks radically different from The Wind Waker with less stylized, more realistic looking graphics.

As ever with a Nintendo title, much of the game is still surrounded in secrecy, but previews have already shown the game's enormous scale with huge areas of rolling countryside for you to ride your horse and battle various evil enemies. Indeed, the game seems more action-focused than previous adventures, both on horseback and on foot.

One major new feature revealed in the game is that Link is now able to transform into a wolf. This gives him a whole suite of new features including the ability to "see" smells and access areas impossible as a human (or elf).

Despite the greater emphasis on action, the puzzles in the game are even more elaborate than before. A forest dungeon reveals your ability to communicate with animals. You order around a troupe of baboons to solve puzzles and to help battle the level boss.

The GameCube could hardly have asked for any better swansong than this, with utterly amazing graphics and an apparently endless range of features and settings. Even with so little still known about it, this is still on course to be the best game of the year. -- Harrison Dent, Amazon.co.uk

This preview is based on an incomplete version of the game; features or problems mentioned above may not appear in the finished game.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Reviews

I really had always wanted a zelda game, ever since I watched my uncle play ocarina of time on his nintendo 64. When I got twilight princess as my first zelda game I was so excited, This game took me and my sister about a year to complete (when we took our time). -julie. It has great graphics and a wonderful story-line. Now I have almost every zelda game, but this one is my overall favorite, I absolutely love it.

The game is long but I love long games. Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past used to be my all-time favorites but Twilight Princess blows them away. And I will be ready for the next Zelda game. My final verdict is get this game for the Wii or GameCube ASAP. Put simply I am a huge fan of the Zelda series and I have played and beaten all the games to date. They tend to lure you in much farther kind of like the Final Fantasy games made for the big consoles. The dungeons are amazing and my favorite is the City in the Sky dungeon. I sure as hell wasn't.

You won't be disappointed. I own it for the GameCube but it still is a challenging game since there are loads of areas to explore and tons of things to do. The items in this game are amazing as well and the boss fights: some are challenging, others are a breeze but are all epic in scale. It has absolutely the coolest layout I have ever seen for a typical Zelda dungeon. This has to be the best game in the series so far in my opinion.

i never been into zelda games because they are boring to me and cheap, but this one is totaly diffrent from any zelda game out there. You play as link and when you travel to the shadow relm you play as the wolf. If your a fan of zelda games you will defenatly like this game, and if your not you will be introduced to the best zelda game out there. When you get further in the game, you get the power to transform into the worlf even when your not in the shadow relm. You can buy bombs, fishing lures, and many other little items. I got this game like two months ago and i played almost every day and i am still far from the ending, its pritty long game and the graphics are awsome.

Ocarina, Majora's Mask and Windwaker all had instruments to create all different songs, and each song had a different function. The graphics are spectacular against any previous Zelda game, but it is not about the graphics like some games are, which is fine with me. 3 1/2 /5*. You have Epona's Song with the grass, and that's it. The music puzzles were taken out of the game and I liked those. However, this comes in at a close second. It's probably my favorite game of any system. I first started playing Zelda when ocarina came out for N64 and my dad got me the game.

5/5*. This game, not so much. I do have one small thing against it.

4 1/2 /5*. I loved that game and still do. The gameplay is spectacular, and probably the best rendition yet.

The horseback fighting spots are extreamly fun and addicting. The sound and music extremely well done. Replay value 4 1/2 /5*

The soundtrack is pleasing to hear on an ipod or computer by itself.

I feel games The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess should have more free roaming and allow you to have other things to do even after you have beat the final boss.
