Enjoyed the audiobook and meditation CD, but hard to make time to do the meditations as suggested.
This text really has helped me to be able to see how letting my mind wonder and follow the same path all the time is an enormous part of the problem. Teach yourself to slow down, enjoy life, and learn some REAL ways to beat your depression without the meds. Written in a way that allows you to understand it without the need to be a psychology egg-head.
But what does happen is that you have someone to talk to about it. Once you are broken and are deeply sorry for your wicked ways, and then ask Jesus Christ for forgiveness, then and only then can the grip of depression begin to release it's grasp. Relinquish control of your life over to Jesus Christ with all your heart,. *** Please remember, don't stop taking your meds. Repent and turn away from your sins,.
I started getting depressed when I went to college and started living on my own with no supervision. ***. You also have God's Word to inspire you and lift you up. I can't stress that enough.
My problems never got better, they only got worse. It's not that I am not sure of my salvation or "cure", it's that I am not sure of yours. That all changed when I realized that I was a poor, wretched, hopeless sinner that deserved death from a just and holy God. I trust in Jesus and know that eventually I will no longer need the medication and will be "cured" of my depresison. I find that the more I pray and read my Bible, the less influence depression has on me. Despite knowing my behavior was wrong, I continued to live a sinful lifestyle. I didn't stop taking my medications.
Remember, realize it's our sinful nature that makes us depressed. I struggled with depression for 15 years. Read your Bible and pray everyday. I started drinking and began having premarital sex. God Bless. Depression doesn't go away immediately. These behaviors escalated as most empty, immoral behaviors generally do.
Tao Cycle Therapy: Natural Happiness via Self Directed Cure for Chronic Anxiety & Depression [Updated 2008 3nd Edition] This is a very good book. From this same vein I would also highly recommend Sarah Shikitao-Brown's book, both are good honorable books. I would call this the "Asian Self-Help" vein.
great book for those wanting to know more about alternatives to medications to help with depression symptoms.
