The Police (2CD Anthology)
The Police celebrate the 30th anniversary of their recording debut with their first double-disc CD "best of" collection entitled, The Police. The 28 songs bring together the biggest hits from the band's five original studio albums and includes their very first single, 1977's "Fall Out." From that rarity to one of the most-remembered and most performed rock ballads of the `80s, 1983's "Every Breath You Take," The Police spans the group's six-year journey from sweaty clubs to sold-out stadiums - establishing them as one of the definitive and most popular rock groups in the world.

The Police (2CD Anthology) Reviews
The Tour played from May 28, 2007 to August 7, 2008, playing the final show at Madison Square Garden in New York City (Billboard Boxscore) New York Senator Hillary Clinton recently finished the 2008 Presidential Primary race as the candidate who received more Votes than any Presidential Primary candidate in the history of America (The Green Papers) The Police (Sting Vocalist & Bassist, Andy Summers Guitarist and Stewart Copeland Drummer) recently finished their reunion tour Earning $358,825,665 from 151 shows, selling 3,300,912 tickets.
Lo and behold the masses ate it up and went a step further putting a phony like Sting on a pedestal, as a spokesperson for indigenous populations of South America. Back in the 80's, The Police were given such a loving pat on the head by critics. As with new wave, the mainstream were hoping the Police's brand of inoffensive music would put a more acceptable image on punk rock. The reality was their gutless music was generally just a cut above soft rock and lyrically they were irrelevant compared to many REAL punk bands. p.s Their is now a cure for insomnia.any of Sting's solo CD's.
I could only come to one conclusion. Police fans should be dismissed as lunatics or at the very least avoided. If commercially intended wimpy soft rock is your thing, then any Police CD will go well with your boring middle class friends, cheap beer and colored sweaters. Get a life.
What you're getting is the best of the Police at a great price - can't argue with that. Some people prefer the songs in their original album context, but in these days of music pick n' mix, it really doesn't matter. It just makes you realize how good these guys are. All the hits in one album.
My only gripe is the uneven quality of the recordings. This collection is a nice balance of Top 40, rock radio hits, and album tracks from the Police. My title sums it up. Given the available remastering technology I expected a fuller, richer sound. but that's also it's shortcoming.it's JUST okay. It's okay,.
If all you want are the hits, this is for you. The CD reeks of a record company wanting to make a few more bucks off of the unsuspecting. Where's the beef. 2 CD's.only 20 songs. The Police are a 5 Star band and deserve better than this meer sampler product. What a waste of money. If you want The Police, spend your $$ on one of their original CD's. And the 20 most obvious songs to boot.
