The only CD that needs to be placed into the ROM after installation is the SUPERSTAR CD - everything can be played from it. I added the expansion packs on to the Sims Deluxe. All of them add additional enjoyment in playing the game. If you put in any other CD it will tell you that you have inserted the wrong disc. But be sure to read the installation instructions BEFORE installing, because they have to be installed in a certain order. This is a great set - 3 expansion packs. I installed them in the wrong order, so I had to uninstall everything (including the Sims Deluxe) and then reinstall them all.
Superstar has specific graphic requirements and it slows down the graphic speed making the pictures really choppy. It suggests that you turn off your anti-virus software and any other software, but being an ex-tech, I know that is not a great solution. The rest of the sections are wonderful and a lot of fun.
