The Weight Of Her Reviews
I like it. BUT I CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT HE'S SINGING, and I wonder if any of you can. WHAT IS THE FIRST LINE OF THIS SONG.
If you are a Ryan Adams fan, this is the way to go - love this single.
Very catchy, you'll be singing this and playing this over and over. You'll love yourself for it. Letters. Rise & Fall of Butch Walker & The Let's-Go-Out-Tonites :). Grab this up and then pick up his 3rd Solo compilation entitled "Sycamore Meadows" out Nov 11th. Left of Self-Centered. Do yourselves a favor and check out his other works.
This song is FREE at the moment. And you know what. What can I say, this guy can't write a bad song.
This song actually reminds me of some girls that I know although I probably wouldn't tell them that. I also enjoyed the candid spoken commentary which occurs a little more than midway through. This single is contagious and I can't wait to hear the rest of the tracks. The lyrics are funny because they have a level of truth to them. I have heard songs written by Butch before and his relentlessly catchy tunes have never left me disappointed in the past. I am relieved to hear that his solo album is no exception.
The song itself is really catchy with heartfelt lyrics. It has the free spirited feeling of a summer-time ballad. As a whole, the song is reminiscent of an Old 97s track but Butch brings something new to the table, especially about halfway through when he talks to "her" as the instruments play on in the background. If this song is any indication of what the rest of the album is going to sound like, its good sign.
