I've had some that runs louder than regular fans. I would recommended this product to anyone who needs a quiet, efficient power supply. It does the job and does it well. For it's price this is a very good power supply. It's one of the quietest power supplies I've ever heard. And another thing it came with 2 SATA power ports something PSU of this price don't carry. This is very quiet actually one time I wasn't even sure if it was running so I turn in off and back on again in error.
But good price and very good service from amazon made a deal. This is a good power supply based on the specs for my upgraded PC. It also is very quiet with two 80mm fans which is great. There are only two SATA connectors and they're really close together.
All in all I'm very happy with this unit. I got this as a replacement for my computer's original power supply. except that the number of cords running out of the power supply has filled up my case. There are plenty of connections, which is great. I assumed the CPU fan was producing much of the noise, but turns out the CPU fan runs almost silently under normal conditions. the fan on it began rattling (which made my computer even louder than it was originally) and I also needed extra cords to hook up to my new video card.
Upon installing the power supply, I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only was my rattling problem solved. With my new power supply, the computer makes almost no sound at all. the computer runs so quietly now that it's almost inaudible. there are connections for all the components and it runs almost silently.
It is very quiet and the 2 fans help leep the case cool. So far I have had no problems. I purchased the Thermaltake W0070RUC TR2 Series 430W Power Supply with 2 Fans to power my MSI NX8600GT graphics card. I highly recommend it.
I called The customer service representative and they were very nice and told me to do the paper clip trick. well when I did the power supply sparked and it scared the hell out of me because my head was by the box listening for the fans. Do yourself a favor and go with another product even if you have to pay a little more. I sent the product back and almost two weeks later i still have not recieved any word on my return. I purchased the Thermaltake product recently because I bought a graphics card and needed to upgrade. Even though I did recieve the product promptly, after hooking up the Power supply it didnt even work.
