Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! - Season 1 Reviews
This show consistently cracks me up. But I am really annoyed that I spent $15 for this DVD and it's still censored. I won't be buying the second season even though I think it's more funny. I'll just record from the TV and get the same result for free.
When it comes to comedy, social commentary, and astoundingly soul-touching music there are no equals to the duo of Tim and Eric. I wonder how people can justify not purchasing this DVD. This phenomenon is more than just the front men and includes a team of talented and beautiful people. After you purchase this, be sure to also purchase anything and everything you find that is related to Tim & Eric. Only then may you live the rest of your days with no regrets. The entertainment value contained on this simple DVD could easily be appraised at many times the cost of the disk (and accompanied cover art and space-aged polymer container).
Most of us spend a lot of our lives watching television, its almost completely unredeemably artificial and crappy. Many people dont like large chunks of their lives being ripped from them and exposed as being horrendously stupid. The DVD doesnt get old the work is dense in a good way and new things appear in it on every rewatching.
This show pokes fun at it all. I sometimes just start laughing as I realize how absurd the whole thing is as something from Tim and Eric pops into my head. Many people are unsettled by the material because its uncomformist and intentionally off key, I personally enjoy the change. When I am watching some completely retarded infomercial or tv show on the tube.
Some bits dont work 100% but I give them 5*'s anyway for putting it all out there. They manage to do it in an entertaining and humorous way not in a preachy or nasty way.
My 12 year old thinks its idiotic. I see there is a wide range in the ages of the reviewers. My only gripe with the show is occasionally there will be what appears to be an inside joke thrown in. Not really fair to the rest of us, but, oh well. I'm 39 and my 10 year old son thinks its the best show on right now.
You have to be able to appreciate offbeat humor and obscure(make that VERY obscure) references to laugh at this. These reviews are not divisive at all. Pretty much everyone who rated it gave it 4 or 5 stars. I think Tim and Eric fall into the category not of "love it or hate it" , but "gets it or doesn't get it".
I love my shooooooooow. Tim and Eric are the commentary is a great way to learn about how the show is produced. Not for everyone, but awesome anyways. I my shooooooooow. I highly recommend checking out their website or some Youtube clips to see if it's up your alley.
For first time watchers, I will say it took me a few episodes before I really got an idea of what was going on. If you like the show, the DVD is worth it. This is one of those shows where you either get it or you don't. There are quite a few bonus features and commentary on every episode, which provides some great laughs.
