The Timex T79681 Youth watch is reliable, durable, and readable in the dark, thanks to the integrated Indiglo night-light, but it's also flat-out fun to wear. This quartz analog watch features an easily readable, full Arabic numeral display and smaller 5-minute notations on the outside of the dial. It also has a small jet fighter that rotates around the dial with the hands, and a comfortable elastic fabric strap (for better dirt and stain resistance) with jet fighters against a black base. This watch also offers water resistance to 30 meters (100 feet), durable silver resin case, different colored hour and minute hands, and Timex's unique Kids Loss Protection Plan. It's recommended for children ages 6 and older. The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. Timex understands that kids often lose things, even their most prized possessions, which is why this watch is covered by the Timex Kids Loss Protection Plan. If the watch is lost, Timex will replace it with the same style (or similar if your style is not available) at the price of $10 for up to one year from the original date of purchase, with no questions asked. What more could an 8 Year Old ask for. When his Uncle asked "What should I send for his birthday." I suggested a watch. Mom was outdone. It has been wonderful and runs great - Good 'ol Timex. He found this one - and asked for my approval. Only downfall, it was his favorite Birthday gift. Of course I loved it - it is analog, so he had to "learn" to tell time, not read the numbers.it was adjustable (elastic strap), water resistant (living near the beach and numerous ponds it was bound to get wet), and it had JETS on it.
Plus it has a one year warranty-how can you beat that. This is a great watch-great price-great features like the no-hassle armband-no buckles mean that my 6 year old can put it on and take it off easily. my son loves that. Another great kid-feature is the indiglo. I also like the red outer band around the face of the clock that tells the kids that it's so many minutes past the hour.
Its been about a year now but he just started really using it and the plastic that holds the elastic handband broke that goes you lifetime warranty and also the face got scratched up days after he got it.If I knew this before I would have considered something else for kids watch is a good but not for kids, it should be more durable and also screen should be scratch resistant.
I ordered a girl's watch, but the watch my granddaughter received was a boys watch. However, she loves it just the same so we did not attempt to return it.
It has a band that goes thru a silver buckle type thing. Very sweet watch for my son, but it doesn't have a velcro closure. Velcro would have been better, but it's still a great watch at a great price, and the band is comfy and stretchy.
