Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Critical Hour Reviews
This game is not as good as the other rainbow games rainbow fans beware this games just does not have the story line of the others
I find Rainbow Six to be fun and entertaining. I really enjoyed this game as well as every other game in the series.
BAD. - They took out ALOT of weapons( my M16, AUG, ETC ) and no sniper rifles. the explosions look UGLY and Not Scary. + More action. Good. + Some cool missions "remade". So you get it, the game is OK but has alot of Faults; Single Player being short - washed, fuzzy graphics - and the arsh Difficulty makes me give this game a 6 out of 10.
On good side, it has those fun fire fights, the reflections from like the tiles and mirrors and water in the cave are cool, enviroments look OK from a distance, your characters actually look like special forces, the MK3 is the funnest gun in my opinion ( think a tommy gun with more ammo and a scope ) , and multiplayer is awesome. - Graphics look washed, which is NOT todays technology. Best Mission. + Old Team is back. If you loved the classic Rainbow and you can look past the limp sound, the washed graphics, the brief single plyer, and the difficulty, you will have a fun game. + The Jungle/Cave/Facility mission is the best and the Water in the cave reflects, so cool and looks realistic.
- 1 or 3 hits, your dead. ( TOO DAMN SHORT ). Ubisoft made this as in excuse for Lockdown, all-though a really fun and under apprieciated game, Lockdown didnt please the fans, so they cranked out Critical hour, with the missions from the original games "reimagined" with todays technology. And it has received negative or mediocre reviews. I will make a list.
Sure you have xbox 260 but give some love for xbox. 6/10. Andrew Frederickson. - 7 SINGLE PLAYER MISSIONS. 4 player co op. If you played one of the best Rainbow Six games, like Rainbow six 3 or Rainbow six raven shield or even the classic Rainbow six, then you should probably like Critical Hour.
+ Fun Multiplayer. Why. Here is the problem: This game is fun and has some highlights, but since Rainbow six: Vegas came out, not many people will care criticl hour.
SWeet. + Explosions do alot of damage and can cause blood puddles but. Oh, and the 6th mission, looks fantastic if you have a HDTV, although the level still looks like its washed out, but your in a jungle, so it fares better there.
-. - Sound, if not on high voulume, sounds muted and weak. + Good AI.
+ The guns sound good and are good ( if you have on high volume ).
Overall, i'd say this is a pretty fun game. The weapons were the same, but they took out some of them [my beloved SR4 :'(], and you're back with your old team, no international operatives that you can get paired up with. This game isn't as good as Rainbow Six Lockdown, because of less missions and almost no cut scenes. I bought this game because i LOVE Tom Clancy Games, and most games by Ubisoft.
It's probably a better idea to rent the game then to purchase but if you're a big fan of the kind of gameplay that the original had then you're definately going to enjoy the experience. (try playing through the maps with just pistols and no saving for an interesting challenge). The original Rainbow Six is still my favorite game in the series and i'm pleasantly surprised to see a remake of some of my favorite levels of the original and Rogue Spear. The gameplay is very well executed even though it plays very similar to the original PC version and graphically it's alot better looking then the pretty ugly PS1 release. While the game is not very difficult (you can save your progress at any time during a level) or even long it's still alot of fun to replay missions with different strategies and weapons.
