Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory takes you back into the shadowy world of Sam Fisher, a special agent on the front lines of the information war. It's 2008 when we return to the intrigues of the new warfare; The Japanese economy has collapsed and evidence indicates that it was due to a virus originating from South Korea. The Japanese request American assistance - and Sam Fsher is sent deep into hostile territory, to collect critical intelligence just inches from his worst enemies.

Sam Fisher is back for more espionage and intrigue in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. All the nail biting about whether to go in "hot" with guns blazing, or to use stealth is back in this new version, plus some amazing improvements. Chaos Theory ups the ante with vastly improved graphics, totally open level design, and coop gameplay.

Fresh from the East Timor operations, Fisher is now put on the front lines of information warfare. The year is 2008 and the world is suffering from citywide blackouts, stock exchange sabotage, and electronic hijacking of national defense systems. The stakes are high and Fisher, as the NSA's most elite black-ops agent, is inserted in operations to aggressively gather intelligence. A wide range of missions call on a lethal mixture of weapons and close range combat. While Chaos Theory demands the same agility and athleticism required in previous Splinter Cell incarnations, some new weapons, gadgets and moves are available, such as the prototype Land Warrior rifle, and the stealthy, but oh-so-deadly inverted neck break.

In addition to an improved graphics engine, physics are enhanced, too. Enhancements like rag doll physics, particle effects, and realistic interaction with the environment make the Splinter Cell experience more immersive than ever. Just as judging your environment was crucial in past Splinter Cell games, Chaos Theory demands that you understand the delicate balance between light and shadow to stay alive.

Chaos Theory offers great replayability in single player mode, thanks to its vast, open level design. There's always more than one way to achieve your objectives. At the beginning of each mission you are given your objectives, but you must choose how to go about completing them. Decisions about stealth versus conflict are yours to make, too. Should you enter a mission with non-lethal weaponry, a host of guns and ammo, or a little bit of both? You decide.

The Splinter Cell franchise is known for its tense, stealth-driven multi-player modes, and Chaos Theory is no exception. This version adds unique cooperative modes where you and your teammates must complete infiltration missions. Try to keep each other alive. Try to thrive in the dark and strike when the moment is right.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Reviews

A must have for any Splinter Cell fan. I can't recommend this game enough, it's that awesome.

The graphics are amazing even compared to the new next-gen titles and the game play will make you never want to put your controller down. Definetly a must play for any gamer who likes action and stealth based games, and the online co-op is the best in the series. I had already played this game through countless times on my playstation 2 and bought it for my xbox 360 so I could play the onine co-op with my cousin.

This is the best Splinter Cell game in my opinion, I still haven't played Double Agent, will be in a couple of days. It was a must buy at its original cost and it really is at this price. But I loved this one, the graphics are the best I've seen and gameplay is crazy. Tons of way of completing each level.

Game also reminds you how to do them while loading. - Cool new moves. Listen to the track during the boat mission in which you toss people overboard. Ability to knock people over and pull them down from ledges is cool. - They lightened up on the alarms concept.

I like the multi-cultural immersion. - Long game. - Items/gadgets still cool, hacking is especially cool. There is some additional music from fake rock bands scattered throughout the game on radios for a nice touch. It's more beautiful than most Hollywood scores. Even the added touch of foreign computers having their own particular cultural sounds when you turn them on/off. - Soundtrack/score is top notch (Amon Tobin).

The bad guys are a combo of home grown and global. When a game designer goes to these lengths, you really have something worth while. At one point, you are technically "at war". - The story doesn't blame everything on Arabs or Islamic fundamentalism. There are a few hooks that simply make this game fun. I'd place it right under Halo, Halo2, Half-Life2 and right above Doom3 in the top 5 best xbox games of all time. All a lot of fun.

Really gorgeous. - Glitch free. - As with other Splinter Cell games, the scope is global and these spy agencies are real. Good touch. Knock them out from behind doors. - Graphics are beautiful. No complaints here folks.

- Co-op with modified levels. This game is glorious. - Solid upgrade overall over other splinter cell games. Grab them through Japanese paper doors. No consulting the internet to figure out what went wrong.

=) From an adult's point of view, if you enjoy stealth games with amazing graphics and enjoy a level a day after a long day at work, then by all means pick this one up as well as Pandora tomorrow. The graphics are amazing and soooo detailed. Granted you will more than likely be repeating levels more than once since you will get your tail handed back to you sometimes.

Pick this one up. How cool is that. I thought the graphics from The Chronicles of Riddick were amazing, but Chaos Theory wins hands-down in that category. =) I used to have the original Splinter Cell on the Xbox but that game is nowhere even near the quality of Pandora Tomorrow and esp Chaos Theory. I picked up Chaos Theory and Pandora Tomorrow the other day and I have to tell you that I am impressed to say the least.

The water even glistens on Sam Fisher's clothing and gear. What's really neat is that the first level is the lighthouse level they show on tv. Happy gaming. That was awesome to rip that dude off the top of the lighthouse.
