Eleven colorful plastic gears adhere magnetically to a 14-by-16-inch easel, so kids are free to arrange them in any order they can dream up. The gear in the center powers the whole contraption. The various gears (each measuring from 1 to 3 inches across) all do something different, whether it's making a noise or just turning a brightly colored arm, and kids can control the gear speeds with fat, easy-to-grab switches. I purchased this for our three-year-old grandaughter's birthday, and it was an immediate hit. We have already purchased the next step in gear products for her. Because it is magnetic, she can easily transport it wherever she goes. We are totally happy with the way the toy is constructed and the ease with which our grandchild could learn to use it. She continues to choose it over other toys on a regular basis and is practicing thinking skills as she plays. It's colorful design immediately drew her attention.
I think his dad liked it even more than the child did. Very colorful, well-made, and fun. Highly recommended. I bought this for a three year-old boy and it was his favorite Christmas present.
Great toy. Gearation is a great toy. Connect the gears to make them move. Gears have different things on each one - one chimes, one spins, one has eyes. My 3 year old just loves it - the back of each gear is a magnet and can be easily placed on the board while off or while moving.
He's a kinematician. 6 years old or 60 years old, it was a neat thing. A guy at the office got this last year as a Secret Santa. It couldnt have possibly been a more perfect gift.
Every body is amused by it. Just wish it would turn itself off after a while. Seems to be on all day. He plays with it every day since he got it for his birthday. My three year old grandson loves this thing.
