Just like the first game, playershave the choice to skate as Tony Hawk or one of the many pro riders found in the game. All of the riders have returned from the original Tony Hawk Pro Skater, with the addition of Steve Caballero, Eric Koston, and Rodney Mullen. TonyHawk's Pro Skater 2 takes it to the next level with hundreds of additional tricks that include nose/tailslides, nose/bluntslides, varial flip, a multitude of new grabs, expanded inverts, lip tricks, nollies, manuals, and more realistic switch skating.And when they fall, players will see and hear the enhanced bails, nutters, knee slides, pole wraps, board breaks and wall splats. Compete againstyour friends in the original modes of Trick Attack, Graffiti, and Horse plus a new addition, Tag Mode. In addition, the new multi-player contest disciplines of Regular and Best Trick allow 1-8 players to take turns skating heats in the competitionlevels of the game.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is the sequel to the bestselling and highly acclaimed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. The original title sported easy controls, solid gameplay mechanics, and awesome visuals. These elements remain, as the designers spent their time adding hundreds of new tricks, slightly tweaking the core gameplay, and creating both a character editor and a 3-D skate park editor. Players can create the skate park of their dreams, choosing a theme and locating stairs, ramps, half pipes, pools, and rails. After completing the finishing touches, you can put your park on the Internet for all to admire. Then you can create your own character to skate your custom park. You can personalize the name, age, height, weight, style, stance, trick set, and skateboard of your skater. Alternately, players can choose a character from a number of professional skaters, including Tony Hawk, Chad Muska, Kareem Campbell, Andrew Reynolds, and Jamie Thomas. Skaters will gain more skills as you progress. There are several skate parks to choose from, including Marseilles, Manhattan, and Skate Street Ventura. In the core game, players perform tricks to gain money and purchase new skating abilities, tricks, or boards. Another mode is free skating, plus there are several multiplayer scenarios, consisting of an eight-person judged competition, HORSE (feel free to choose any letters you'd like), tag, trick attack, and graffiti.

4. In order to unlock the final level, you have to 100% all the previous levels (and win 3 gold medals) with EACH of the 5 (or so) skaters included in the game. (If you're like me, you'll yell at your computer allot - in a good way) 5. If you fall during a "chain" of tricks, you get ZERO points for all your effort.2.
This would take me about 2 years to complete - BOGUS (I hate cheating). Some of the hidden areas are impossible to find w/out searching the internet for clues. The reasons I gave it only 4 stars is:1. I'll just get to the negatives. At least on my 450mhz/RivaTNT machine, sometimes the skater won't turn when I tell it to.3.
Finally, I think the people/graphics look a little cheezy (the locations, ramps and skies look pretty good, though).Other than that, it's a great investment.
Nevertheless, if u buy this game it will make u happy for a long time. Getting all the gaps, level goals, and unlocking levels and charecters. But once uv played it for a year,(like me)it can get sort of boring: "I know where that rail goes" , "I know what this unlocks". THPS2 is a very fun & challenging game.
You don't need to know any programming.Other games like this: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2x, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, Grind Session, Thrasher So even if you['re bad] at the game you can ride the pre-made parks. You can also make your own parks, and it's easy to make. This game is awesome and addictive. Its fun with the cheats too. It took me about 1 yr to beat it, then i got the cheats for it. Thers i think maybe 8 diff skate parks, but once you pass them, you got 3 extra parks.plus you have a slew of pre-made parks to practice on.
There are so many places and players which keeps you plaing for a long time. The graphics are excellent. Very good game. Definitly a very, very, VERY GOOD GAME. Many different tricks and trick combos which keeps ya playing for a while.
As everyone knows usually the higher the number the better the game. Tony Hawk 2 is an awesome game even for people that don't skateboard. This game has me hoooked for hours and the best part is you can even play over the internet and you can get levels from the old tony hawk like skatestreet ventura and phoenix jam session. The player controll for tony hawk 2 on the computer are a little confusing but for a brief preview u use the num pad and 2 is to jump 6 and 4 are arial tricks adn 8 is grinding. This levels are really cool and u do not have to complete them to continue. This levels are for high scores and practicing. It is very fun earning money and buying boards, tricks, and stats. Well this is one of those wierd games where 2 is better than 3 and 1 combined.
