Tooth and Nail Records / Amazon Sampler Reviews
Nothing wrong with it but I am not hearing anything to separate them from the pack. A bit more 'screamo' at times. Great Drumming. Thumbs UP.
I also like the vocals a great deal. "Mad Men" by Haste The Day is speed metal in the Avenged Sevenfold vein; sounding like a bit of A7X before City of Evil and during. Generally, I am not a fan of 'screamo', but this is just borderline 'screamo' so I give this one a thumbs up. I like the guitar sound. Sever Your Ties has a lot of discs available and this track "Captive" is pretty good. I hope to hear more from this band soon. I'd need to hear more by this group before I'd buy a full CD. Some of the vocals grate on my nerves and others are fine.
Hung Jury. Good Harmonies on the chorus, too. I do like the chorus a lot though. The Becoming's "I Cry" has a good guitar tone and solid drumming. This band rocks and the song is one you will want to hear again. Since they are all on the same label there is no conflict here but I am hearing some good music.
This sampler should be picked up by anyone who is interested in Tooth and Nail Records, independent music, or FREE music. Sure, it's not jam packed with songs, but the three songs it contains are new, up and coming, artists who will be large on the scene in the next couple years, as well as the well known Haste the Day's new single "Madman." I recommend this wholeheartedly and my personal favorite is Sever Your Ties's "Captive."
