Image and picture on tv are good. Control is terrible. The dvd player doesn't like to play certain types of DVD-R media including Sony, Imation and or TDK.so if you have home movies on dvd-r you will have issues. The Yellow color for the dvd functions are impossible to see in anything other then bright light. I don't know if toshiba just doesn't put remotes through usability testing or what.
I found the quality of the picture and sound to be very high, and the combination of features first rate. In two years, I have had to have the set serviced twice because the DVD player suddenly 'went dead,' and my usage of DVDs is less than once a month. However, given the choice again, I would not purchase this combination model.
The DVD and VHS work wonderfully and I love not having separate gagets since I am not very techy. I am happy and beyond pleased with this Toshiba 24" TV-DVD & VCR I only regret not getting it sooner. The picture is great. I am writing this review now because I am looking for another of the same to gift to my Mom and to my Sister and I see that Amazon is out of stock. I have had no problem with it what so ever. I purchased this TV and it has working wonderfully for over two years now.
The other brand of tv downstairs was unaffected. After seeing everyone else on the net say they received no compensation from Toshiba, I'm not hopeful. Highly NOT recommended. WE too like another posting had a power outage for about 1 second and it blew the TV.
Toshiba has done nothing to help in this matter and repair costs have come out of my pocket. When there is a power outage, even if you have it plugged into a surge protector, when the power is restored it blows out the television. I wouldn't recommend buying any Toshiba products since their costumer service is unresponsive to complaints and resolving issues. I have owned this television for 2 1/2 years and have had to get it repaired twice.
