Transitions: Soothing Music for Crying Infants(Transitions Music)
Developed under the guidance of physician Fred Schwartz, the Transitions recordings serve both to enhance the miracle of childbirth and to aid infant sleep. Looking to reduce the stress of parents and infant children, musicians Joe and Burt Wolff worked with Dr. Schwartz to combine digital samples of actual womb sounds, barely discernable female vocals, and the soft wash of other atmospheric sounds. Recommended by childbirth educators and infant-development specialists for its relaxing effect, Transitions has been clinically proven to stimulate the blood oxygen levels of premature infants in critical care. For weary parents on a midnight walkabout to quiet agitated babies, it's a blessing that induces sleep almost magically. --Paige La Grone

Transitions: Soothing Music for Crying Infants(Transitions Music) Reviews
I start to play the CD while getting my baby ready for bed and she is all nice and calm and just wants to get in her crib. I haven't had to try many different CD's to help my baby sleep as this CD and Transitions 2 work so well that I haven't had to look any where else for music.
The Transitions: Soothing music for Crying Babies is a life saver when you have a colicky or crying infant- it not only calms the baby - it calms Mom and Dad down too. I highly recommend it and look forward to getting Transitions II.
Regular newborns love it too. It always puts them to sleep. It sounds kind of like you are in outer space. Your baby does NOT know that you are singing cute lullabies or getting smarter because he is listening to mozart.
I have been an OB nurse for over 20 years and have used this tape in nurseries everywhere. A woman is humming quietly in the background with a lot of white noise and a whooshing sound. This music is a great way to make a newborn feel safe and warm and content. This is the best music ever for newborns.
This is what your baby ACTUALLY HEARS inside. You may think this is dumb, but it is actually created from audio taping inside a pregnant woman. It's great for preemies-it helps them relax and feel comfortable so they can gain weight.
He would not sleep for longer than 20 minutes without being held until I purchased this cd. I am now expecting twins and will definitely utilized the transitions cd. I purchased this cd when my son was a newborn, he is now 20 months.
I bought this CD for my "fussy"/"colicky"/"high needs" newborn who started crying basically all of her waking hours at around two weeks of age. If your baby is crying and you are looking for a sure thing to calm him/her, I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing "The Happiest Baby on the Block: The New Way to Calm Crying and Help Your Newborn Baby Sleep Longer" (by Harvey Karp) and the companion CD - it has wonderful and unique "white noise" tracks that you can turn up loud in the car or at home and it WORKS. While this CD is very relaxing and was great at putting ME to sleep, it was not great at getting her attention.
