My iPod Nano battery seemed to loose capacity too quickly and died about the same time the charger's cord split. Total life span of the Nano's battery was under 15 months, and it was not used heavily.
I did not frequently top-off the Nano's battery, but followed the recommended protocol of charging only when the battery was fairly low. Even with very careful use, the outer cord covering detached and opened up where it entered the plug that attaches to the iPod.
I suspect, but do not know, that this rather short battery life might have something to do with a charging voltage that is a bit too high. I suspect that Apple chargers do a better job of maximizing the life of the very expensive iPod batteries.
FYI: A famous auction site has Hong Kong suppliers selling genuine Apple wall chargers for less than $10 delivered. This iPod charger functioned for a while, but it is delicate.
This charger is probably best suited as a secondary charger for occasional use.
I guess that saying about getting what you pay for is true. Very disappointing. It seemed to be poorly constructed too. Not unless it came with a warranty. This charger stopped working after about 3 days. Would I buy it again. Oh well.
I Have Way To Many iPods. You cant beat this sellers prices,and fast shipping. So,I like to have a charger handy at all times wherever I happen to be.
I wasnt sure how the quality would be given the very low price, but I charged my ipod on it right away and it worked perfect. I was surprisingly happy with this product. It didnt delete any of my songs, it fully charged my ipod in just about an hour and there is a red indicator light to let you know that it is charging. Very easy to use and a great product for the price.
This does exactly what it says it does and does it cheaply. Works Great.
