A 10/100 NIC card is not an exciting thing. This one was cheap, universal and well-reviewed by others. Product worked perfectly with Windows ME, as advertised. All my expectations were met and I was online in about 2 minutes. No complaints.
This item is perfect for your needs. It worked perfectly for me and solved my problem instantly. It has drivers for Vista if you need them.
I bought this for my computer-illiterate older sister, who uses an ancient Dell laptop running Windows 98. There were no problems installing it and have been none using it.

What else can I say. No problems. I have an old laptop that does not have an ethernet connection on it so I bought this. It works as advertised. I bought this and tried it. I was surprised how expensive these adapters are in stores. I am running an old HP Pavilion N3290 with windows 98/2.
