THIS WILL NOT WORK. It will hook up just fine and appear to make all the necessary connections, but the Apple Cinema Display simply won't work with the 360, no matter what resolution you try to boot it into. Just don't go into it thinking it will hook your 360 up to your ACD and you should be very happy with it. Typical over-priced, under-featured, useless Apple junk.
It also seems to be of a solid design. I purchased this with the hopes of hooking my Xbox 360 Elite to my Apple Cinema Display using the HDMI out on the 360 to go into the DVI cable off my Apple Cinema Display converter box. Now for the plus side: this adapter works in virtually any other application that you might try.
Let's you hook up your PC to your HDTV, or anything else you have that has either an HDMI out or DVI out that you want to convert to the other. You will be met with a flashing power light on the monitor and nothing else.
I did find it very useful connecting an XBOX 360 to my monitor but I had to take apart the XBOX's component connector in order to make both fit. The adpater works and feels pretty solid but I have had issues using it in the back of a few TVs. (I needed it for the audio) After buying this adapter I realized I should have just bought an DVI to HDMI cord. When attached to a DVI cord it is just a little long.
I thought that the adapter might block the LAN port (which is right next to the HDMI port on the PS3), but this is not the case. I use this adapter with my Playstation 3. Needless to say, the picture quality is great.
and it works awesome I use it to allow my belkin flip switch to work with my hp hmdi laptop. works great.
The reason is that many TV's these days have the connections recessed up into the body, and this connector, combined with another DVI connector, makes it too long to fit in the recess. Seems very well made and sturdy. If you are using this to go from DVI from a computer or something into a flat screen TV, it may not work for you. I had to purchase an HDMI extension cable in order to make it work. Other than that, it's a great product and works as advertised.
